Hi, I'm trying to learn which template contains the copyright notice?

That is located in the footer template.

But be careful on what you do with that code. You have limits on to what you can do. Make sure your read about that over on vbulletin.com.

Ok, I am in need of locating another template, please help me!

When you post a reply here, in this forum, below the last post, and above the editor, you see google ads, I want to place a banner right there, what template is that located in?

That should be your SHOWTHREAD template.

You can also use the Search in Templates in your adminCP. For example you were looking for Quick Reply box. So you would have searched for the words Quick Reply. That would have come up with the SHOWTHREAD template.

See if that helps you out in anyway.

Dude, thats great, and easy too! Thank you for helping me learn.
I'm actually starting to like vbulletin lately, at first, it scared the heck out of me.
All the editing of templates, I really didnt like that at first, but after you do a few, its no biggie.

ok, let me ask you another question, if you don't mind?
I have a hack for doing banners, and I placed the $GLOBALS[bannerads] command
so that my banner appears where the google ads are in this forum. above the text editor, and below the last post.

What I do not like is that the banner, is left side justified, are there any sort of commands that I can add to center it?

Before the banner code, add

<div align="center">

and after the code, add
</div>

oaky, I have a related question again, I've accomplished what I was looking to do in question #3, place ads below the last post, and above the editor.

The problem is simply that when a thread grows to more than one page, the ad is gone.
Obviously there must be another template that needs to be edited?

How long the thread grows should have NO bearing on whether the ads show or not. As long as you have them placed above the quick reply editor, they will show, since the editor is on every page of the thread, not just at the end of the thread.

yes, something is wrong for sure. I've looked into it some more, and it dosent seem to be there, on every thread for some reason, and never on 2nd or 3rd pages or beyond, only on the 1st page, and than only sometimes.

Here is a copy on my showthread temp, do you see anythign wrong in there?

Try moving the code up a few lines in that template.

Find this bit
<if condition="$show['multiquote_global']">
<script type="text/javascript" src="clientscript/vbulletin_multi_quote.js?v=$vboptions[simpleversion]"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
var mqlimit = $vboptions[mqlimit];
</script>
</if>And then insert your ad code directly below it.

I think this will fix your problem.

Hey Mike, thank you for sharing your knowledge with me.
Yes this worked just great, of course you already knew that.
Thanks!

No, when I said I thought it would fix the problem, that was as good as it got. I wasn't exactly sure, myself. I'm just glad it worked for you.

Hi again,
I'd like to add a position where my banners appear, and was wondering which template to edit, the attached photo, shows where I would like it.
Thanks in advance!

Edit your SHOWTHREAD template. Look for $poll and add your code above that.

Which template would I edit to make my banners appear in the first and last post of each thread?

eJM

The postbit and postbit_legacy templates, I believe.

greenpassion

I tried editing the postbit and postbit_legacy templates, and the best I could come up with is a banner appearig inbetween every post.

I dont want that, I want the banner inside of the first & last post of every thread.
Did I miss something?

Have you looked for a modification that will do that for you at vBulletin.org? There are several. Do a search for "advertise" in the modifications forums.

I have a mod, the one I use requires you to edit templates though.
As far as I can tell this is in either the postbit or SHOWTHREAD template,
I'm going to experiment a little and see.
