Wrong image being displayed

OK, here's one I can use some help with.

On a forum I co-admin, I have two members that experience this problem every now and again. Nothing we can find any pattern for, it just happens.

Random images do not display properly. A couple days ago, one of them posted a screen shot of a rank badge appearing where /images/buttons/quote.gif should have appeared. Today, he had another member's avatar appearing where an emoticon should have been. (See attached screenshots)

I've talked with the guy and he's pretty conscientious about dumping cache every time he closes his browser (this fellow uses Firefox). The other fellow has the problem crop up in Firefox and IE7 both.

I cannot duplicate the problem and apparently these two are the only ones that have the problem.

Anyone have any clues or directions to point me in?

Are you 100% certain your vBulletin JavaScript Files were all over written on your last upgrade?

Have they done hard refreshes on those pages despite the fact they do "good cache maintenance"?

Are they using a firewall or anti spyware with draconian settings? Are they blocking JavaScript?

When I have one or two with a problem other's don't have, it's usually something loose behind the keyboard.

Hi noppid.

I just checked and all the JavaScript files were over-written.

I'm with you on this one, I think it is a local problem. We cannot seem to recreate the problem, no matter what we try. I think I just needed to hear that from someone else.

Did you get a piece of mail from me, here in the last few days? I notice there is a hole in my online bank statement. No problem if you just haven't visited your bank, but I don't want you held up and waiting on money from this end.

I'm actually glad I joined up here, that way if I ever come across some random weird vB related issues, I'll know where to look.

I am curious though (sorry if I missed it somewhere in your original post), are the issues their having with remote images or with images hosted on the websites server? This likely has nothing to do with the issue at all, I'm merely curious.

Thanks.

They were seeing other images from within that forum, just images from other folders. In the example above, an other user's avatar was appearing as a smilie.
