One way to boost Auctionads - Run a contest

I've been thinking about this for awhile and thought I would give it a try.

I am running a contest on 2 of my sites.

Most outrageous eBay auction.

The idea is that my members will run around ebay looking for auctions and look at other people's submissions. The AuctionAds cookie will make it so anything they buy from ebay in the next 30 days will earn me a commission. Keep in mind, I have the AuctionAds rewrite hack (http://www.vbulletin-faq.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8828) installed so every eBay link is rewritten with MY auctionads ID.

I had a few cases of Royal Purple oil that the company had donated to me for contest prizes so the whole thing costs me nothing.

I made sure to send a newsletter out announcing this and will follow up with a second email in a few days.

Great idea. I just installed EZ eBay Ads on my site. My Amsoil guy has some stuff for Rider Info, so this is perfect timing if that goes through. I'm excited about the possibilities.

Very kewl idea.

Just an update - its about noon and I have as many clicks today as any good full day.

With a little luck, this idea might be profitable.
