noppid 09-29-2007, 07:46 AM I hear all the time how well eBay ads attract clicks or visitors and even make money. But for everyone of those posts I see two saying the ads didn't work out for more than one reason or another.
Anyway, I made my own version. Let's see how it works out without a middle man. We get our data direct from eBay and create our own ads.
I hope it works out to be honest. I don't use AA so I really don't have an opinion about the service one way or another I can personally qualify. My AA info is from forums and blogs posted by other AA users or past users.
Peggy 09-29-2007, 08:14 AM I made quite a bit from AA in the first few weeks I had it on TBD, which greatly surprised me, but it's slowed down to a mere trickle - sometimes not even that. However, I've never made a dime off of adsense, so I see no need to take AA down - yet.
Joeychgo 09-29-2007, 10:16 AM DO you have the eBay rewrite hack Diesel?? You should have that at least.
DieselMinded 09-29-2007, 09:10 PM No Whats that Joey?
Mike54 09-30-2007, 03:45 AM Here (http://www.vbulletin-faq.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8828) you go. This will append your ID to eBay links posted on your forum.
Since the Auction Ads seemed to be getting served better, I've left them on my sites. However they are producing zero income. I've tried different ad locations and they consistently produce nothing. <shrug> They're not costing me anything, so I leave them with the hope they will someday turn a dime.
SuperJETT 10-22-2007, 08:34 AM We're at $72+ earned in 9 days since adding them. I have them very targeted toward our members, though it's fairly easy to do for standup jetskiing.
Caddyman 10-22-2007, 08:57 AM I just can't believe that.....im sorry ^^
i made like 66 cents out of 400 some clicks with AA, they are gone for me as well
and people say its not costing them anything to show them, but it may be, there is some who think that having AA where a adsense or other PPC program it will effectively decrease your clicks and CTR. something to think about.
ok now im flabbergasted...lol @519 clicks i am up to $3.50, sweet!! haha

Sorry you don't believe it but it's true. I run a standup jetski website, so it's very easy to pinpoint keywords and our members are always buying/selling either on our site or Ebay, so it works for us so far. http://www.x-h2o.com

Peggy 10-23-2007, 05:28 AM I leave AA on my sites because - why not? I'm not earning anything altho I did quite a bit when I first put them up, and yeah I do have the rewrite hack. But, I have never, ever, earned a dime from adsense either, in almost 2 years. So go figure.
I do believe Jett. I know quite a few people who do damn good with AA.

We'll see if it continues. I have the rewrite mod also, and our members (the ones that paid attention) know if they are going to buy something, anything on Ebay, to post a link then click on the link so we get a commission. I setup a special forum just for that, only the op can see their post/thread, not even admins, that way noone knows what others are buying.
SuperJETT 10-29-2007, 05:07 AM Just another confirmation that AA can really work, I'm at 15 days since starting and have made $151. For my site, it's a perfect fit because I can tailor the ads very specifically toward what they buy for jetskiing.
I have my fingers crossed that it keeps up and donations won't be necessary in the future.
WebWizard 11-12-2007, 08:55 PM Yeah i heard Auction Ads, are performing very badly. I had them removed a long time ago as well.

It totally depends on your board's demographics, I just had a $69 day last week and averaging over $11/day for the past month.
bongwater 11-15-2007, 11:24 AM Just remember that auctionads can only supplement your existing earnings. Im not counting on auctionads to bring in substantial $$ but it's better than nothing

100% correct. Also keep in mind that AA isn't a PPC system so the number of clicks is irrelevant in terms of earnings, you only earn an commission if they click on the ad through your site and then purchase the item. I made about $100 in my first month, but it has dwindled down since my site is a regional motorcycle forum and riding season is over. It'll pick up in the spring, but like SuperJETT said that's because of the demographic of my forum.
