I started www.heavyequipmentforums.com in Nov. '03. We currently have 3500+ members, many of which have joined over the past year. All of our stats are real and not pumped up by any means, I'm not a big fan of the numbers game. Take a look and see what you think, I know I need to upgrade the vBulletin program, I hope to do that this winter.

I have 3 very active Moderators that I couldn't get by without. They help screen members for spambots and watch the Board when I'm unable to. I also have some admin help from a couple other Board owners, both have helped me with stuff that's over my head.

LOL!! Pretty??? We're talking about a group of heavy equipment operators here, not cake decorators! But thanks for your opinion just the same.

So what did you have in mind to pretty it up?

Maybe something like this (http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=163526).

There's a story behind my color scheme. The yellow is the color most heavy equipment is painted, brown represents the earth that these machines dig and the grey is similar to the polished steel (or iron as we call it) that develops when these machines work the soil. Operators are very familiar with these colors, they reflect the industry.

I had to register to look at the skins that are linked, I'll look at them again a bit later.

If that's what they're familiar with, then you should stay with those colors. It doesn't have to be "pretty" to anyone else. ;)

Great points. I work construction, and when I noticed it I liked it but the flag, too distorted or something

The flag is very distorted, probably because it's an animated gif.

Steve you should look for another flag. That one's too distracting.

Thanks. We're undergoing some changes currently. When I put the site together, that flag was the best one I could find, there are probably better ones today. The site is 4 years old now, there have been many improvements all around since then.
