Was wondering if someone could help please, i am getting a bit tired of the current theme im using on my site and would like to install a few others as a bit of a change, the problem is that i have quite alot of template changes on my current theme, and when i check another theme that is installed on my board those template changes arent there, as if its only installed on 1 theme, so if i was to install another couple of themes is there away that i can transfer all the template changes i have currently without having to try and re-write them all into the new theme??
Thanks

If you install the additional themes as child themes to the parent theme that has the template edits, they will take on the edits. However, keep in mind that certain design attributes may be screwed up by making it a child style. For instance, if the parent style has a left-aligned header image, and the one you want to make a child style has a center-aligned header image, it most likely will take on the left-aligned attribute of the parent style, perhaps messing it up.
I never use child styles, preferring to do all of the template edits to each style. But then again, I never use more than 2 styles on my forum at one time.

Thanks for the quick reply, if i do decide to install a child theme and it doesnt work out will it effect my parent theme in any way or will i be able just to set that back to default theme??
Thanks Again

the child theme shouldn't affect your parent theme at all. And if the child theme does mess up, you can just change it from a child theme to a parent theme in the style manager. That should straighten it out, altho you may have a few small "fixes" to do.
