How do I modify my user name in my own forum? My goal is to change the name that appears next to my posts.

If I modify it, will it screw up my log in to the control panel, or can it be separate from that?

you can enable/disable username changes in the ACP also thorugh the AdminCP you may change your name

AdminCP ---> Users ---> search users.
type in your name, change your username.

Sorry, this user is protected from being altered in the config.php file by the $config['SpecialUsers']['undeletableusers'] variable.



I checked the file. It isn't set to protect the Admin, so.... *throws hands up in Air* LOL

I've never seen that, lol. If there is such a thing, it's disabled by default because my members can't change their usernames. I'd have to do it for them

My members can do it only with the vbplaza hack, otherwise in a default vb there's no way to let a user change it by themselves. Admincp user options only.

It is only doable via ADMINCP in standard vB. You have to look up the User and change their name.

Maybe I should get vBPlaza so I can change my own name!!! LOL

that's certainly what i always assumed, but there seemed to be a suggestion that it wasn't the only way.....

nice to know i was right all along! ;)
