I've currently host my forum and about 3 other very small 3-4 static page sites on a dedicated server hosted with The Planet. A good majority of this server is going un-used and is pretty costly for me to keep with really just one site on it (my forum). So I'd like to share the server with someone else whom is needing hosting for their vBulletin forum.
Here is what we'd be sharing:
The Planet: Total Control P2800S Server
Processor: Dual 2.8GHz Xeon Processors
RAM: 2GB
Hard Drive: 2 x 73GB SCSI HDD (One HD stores html files, other stores MySQL databases)
IP Addresses: 10
Operating System: RedHat Enterprise Linux 3.0
Bandwidth: 2500GB
Control Panel: cPanel
Database: MySQL
About every other month or so I hire in a server management team to come in and update the server as well as re-secure it. Also the server's databases are backed up every night at 3am to an offsite data backup service company called BQInternet. If you'd like your html files backed up as well we'd have to go with a larger BQInternet backup package to which we'd split the additional costs as well.
The servers load is usually about 0.02 - 0.07. Since I've had the server we've never used any hard drive swap at all, however 2GB of HD swap is there if needed.
My cost for this server is $274.00 every month - I'm looking to split this cost with 1 or 2 people at the most. I'm not a host, nor am I wanting to become a host - so please keep that in mind while if you're thinking about sharing this server with me.
