Email Problems - Solutions?

I've been battling email issues for months now and I getting really tired of it.

The email from my forum keeps getting "tagged" as SPAM. I get countless bounce messages back from mail servers saying that it's been bounced because they believe it's SPAM. In most cases I can fill out a little form and they will remove my IP address from their "spam" list.

In other cases I've had my member contact their email providers and they have fixed the problem and still in others nothing has helped except to have the member use another email address.

I have a SPF record setup, which has helped a little.

I bet I'm spending 5 hours a week just dealing with email and I've had enough.

I've been sending email 2 different ways and neither has fixed the issue.

I've been sending email thru my own server (with a reverse IP/domain listed) and I've used SMTP through gmail domain account.

What have you done to fix this problem? Is there an SMTP provider I can use that only allows opted in messages so that their email isn't blocked......

I"m probably sending out around 500 emails a day.

Sometimes the problem is where you're hosting. Some hosting services have had their entire IP range tagged for spam.
