Hi,
i have set up my website and everything is working great but for some reason i cannot post the word rapidshare. my site is about mapping and moddin for games but for some reason i cannot link to rapidshare where my tutorial pack is hosted. Does anyone know how to fix this?

The following is what is shown on the error page:

Not Acceptable

An appropriate representation of the requested resource /newthread.php could not be found on this server.

i have tried reinstalling vbulletin and most other options i can think of so does anybody else have any ideas?

thnx,
trainee

P.s i would appreciate it if your advice didnt include telling me to host on other upload site eg. megaupload as i have a premium account with rapid and intend to use it.

Doing a quick google search on the exact error statement revealed others having similar problems.

vBulletin.com suggestion this as a possible culprit:

My users and myself are having issues with blank pages, forbidden and not acceptable errors, what can I do?

There is a very good chance your host has installed a add-on for apache called mod_security.

Quote:
ModSecurityTM is an open source intrusion detection and prevention engine for web applications (or a web application firewall). Operating as an Apache Web server module or standalone, the purpose of ModSecurity is to increase web application security, protecting web applications from known and unknown attacks.

While mod_security can be a very powerful tool, misconfigured or overly strict rule sets can interfere with vBulletins Operation. Below for Apache users you can use an htaccess file and add a specific rule to disable mod_security.

Make or edit your forum .htaccess file and add the following code

<IfModule mod_security.c>
SecFilterEngine Off
SecFilterScanPOST Off
</IfModule>

Note, place this file in your main forum directory.
