I'm wondering if there are any premade hacks available to do this.

Basically my forum deals with wedding planning. What I'd like to do is give each member a custom calendar with preset events based on their own wedding date, then they can add in what ever they like and share with others.

Lets says you signed up with my forum and gave me your wedding date of 9-17-08. I'd like to have vB automatically make you a calendar and plot lets say 1 year before target date start interviewing DJs, 3 months before make sure all contracts are signed.

The user would then be able to add their own events like mail check for invitations.

It's pretty advanced and I don't *think* anyone would've already made it, but I just figured I'd try.

Thanx,
Dan

Assigning the calendar to a member and letting only them edit it is the hack IMO. To use groups for each member would be too much to manage. But with hooks, I think a member level access thing could be triggered.

First however we need to define a calendar and set the owner. Working with the wedding date you could schedule anything you want with some math. You could have an admin page that asks for the member and date and then it sets up the calendar and inserts the events to watch for.

Cool idea. I bet it would be great. I could copy this idea for planning a motorcycle trip to daytona or sturgis. They require a year of planning too.

Who me? Not at this time. I have some other vaporware I want to make materialize.

Me? I have very little php knowledge, maybe down the road. I start college this fall majoring in computer engineering, maybe they'll teach me php. ;)
