I find that taking a screenshot, pasting in photoshop and selecting the Eye Dropper Tool and hovering over the desired colour gets me the exact colour I want/need.

I do that most of the time myself. But the hex charts come in handy for those who don't do graphics but need to change a color. ;)

My editor, EditPlus, and photoshop both have color charts with hex and decimal codes. I just use one or the other if I need a color. Plus they have web only color limits too.

The vB style manager has built in color choosers as well. It's rare I need to search for a color or use a website.

This color wheel (http://ficml.phpnet.us/jemimap/style/color/wheel.html) color chooser is way more fun to use. :)

Ever wondered what colors work good together? I found this site that has a free color schemer to tell you just that.

Now that is simply awesome miner. Some of those colors I would have NEVER thought to use together.

I have been using cpick.exe, a little color-picker freeware app. I don't know if it's still available out there.

I've had fun getting web page colors from images. For example, from a picture of a gray limestone bluff, by choosing between light and dark, I can make a font/background color pair similar to the light gray/dark gray currently used here. I think it's so much easier on the eye than stark black and white.

For in-house company web pages, I have taken colors from the conpany logo.

Firefox has a nifty extension called ColorZilla (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/271), it sits in the bottom of the window. You click on a photoshop like dropper, place it anywhere on the webpage and it spits out an RGB value.

Adobe has its own "buzzword compliant" color scheme generator, you can download the schemes (schema?) to your hard drive in a format compatible with Adobe applications. You will need to subscribe to a free Adobe ID account.

I reckon Miner's link to Steeldolphin is the business. Now why couldn't I find that post when I was trying to make my own color scheme :(

I LOVE the Steeldolphin site. I use it quite often when I'm trying to decide on a color scheme for a new skin.
