Digital Point and few other sites share the adsense revenue with their users. See http://forums.digitalpoint.com/faq.php?faq=revenue_sharing;
Is it allowed by adsense? What I mean is that it would make the users to click on their own ads, finally the giant google will punish the forum owner. What do you think about this?

Yes its allowed. The safest way is to make sure, via the coding of the plugin, a member is never displayed his own ad.

If the member is not logged in, it's hard to determine which ad to display.

The pub-id will still be displayed in the page source. Though honestly, it does not seem like there is a real issue with members clicking their own ads. As with the greedy userbase on Digital Point Shawn (the owner there) would have been banned ages ago... the same would likely apply to Joey here on vBFAQ.

Hmm...I don't understand why Joey's name pops up here. Does he offer ad revenue sharing in this forum? It doesn't look like it. Digital Point is doing this for past 3 years+, google didn't say anything. So, I guess it's ok to do that. I read some users' comments in Digital point. Many of them complained that they get very small amount (about $1) every month thru ad revenue sharing.
