vBulletin 3.7.4

vBulletin 3.7.4 contains a number of bug fixes, details of which can be found in the bug tracker (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/projectsearch.php?do=dosearch&projectid%5B0%5D=6&issuestatusid%5B0%5D=4&addressedmix%5Baddressedversion%5D%5B0%5D=95&sort=lastpost&sortorder=desc).

The security fixes included in vBulletin the 3.7.3 PL release are also included in vBulletin 3.7.4.

reCAPTCHA™ Changes

From vBulletin 3.7.4 onwards a default key for reCAPTCHA™ is provided within the code, if no key is set and reCAPTCHA is the chosen method then this key will be used.

Upgrading from Previous Versions

3.7.4 is a maintenance release. We recommend that all customers running prior versions of vBulletin 3.7 upgrade to benefit from bug fixes and stability improvements.

Full instructions for upgrading vBulletin are available here. (http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/upgrade)

PHP and MySQL Requirements

Please note that vBulletin 3.7.x requires at least PHP 4.3.3 and MySQL 4.0.16 or later.

However, we recommend that vBulletin 3.7.x is run on PHP 5.2.6 with APC (or a similar opcode cache) and MySQL 5.0.51 for best performance and stability.

End of Life for PHP 4

PHP 4 has now reached its end of life. We strongly recommend that customers update their servers to PHP 5.2.6 if they are still running PHP 4. vBulletin 3.7.x supports PHP 5 without any problems, though you may need to disable strict mode for MySQL, see here (http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/editconfig) on how to enable 'force_sql_mode'.

Note: We will continue to support PHP 4 in the vBulletin 3 series.

Download vBulletin 3.7.4

As usual, vBulletin 3.7.4 is available for all customers with valid, active licenses to download from the vBulletin Members' Area.

Nope they ain't kidding. Jelsoft really does like annoying it's customers. :p

Anyways I'm going to wait a few days for the 3.7.4PL1 release if history is any indicator we'll have a PL1 by the end of the week. :D

3.6.12 is an even bigger joke. I don't know it it's me or Jelsoft, but somebody has lost the plot.

Dan, don't wait that long, you'll miss out on the 3.7.5 release.

Boy oh boy....not another update. I mean, it seems like updates are coming up a couple of times per month at least. :(

I guess that I'll wait for a week or two for 3.7.4 PL 1, 2 and 3 and the 3.7.5 updates. Sheesh.

They didn't rename it PL1, but yeah, there was already a bug in the first release. Check your download time to see if you have the right file. They corrected the problem, or posted about the fix, at 7:35 PM EST.

They ought to hire Nop for quality control. ;)

I get lucky finding stuff that may be wrong sometimes, but this was not one of them. I like it when someone comes out and just says we screwed up like Freddie did. Hell, I'm far from perfect. :p

Now the hacks on .org, that's another story. They need a quality control mechanism over there of some sort.
