Now what?

OK, rookie question here!! lol

I've just downloaded one of Miner's styles (thanks Miner) and have all the stuff on my computer. How do I know get it on to the site? Where do I upload it all to?

Upload the image folder thro ftp that u find with the downloaded zip to images>styles>

then upload the css thro your admincp and its done...

sorry i don't see an images folder in the zip stuff, just these......

softexpressions
xml file

Within the SoftExpressions file there are other files...you need to upload them to their respective files on your server. It's usually in Forums/images.

miner's styles are coded to go into a styles folder. Here's what you do Elsie:

FTP the entire soft expressions folder to your forum root --> Images --> styles folder. If you don't have a styles folder inside your Images directory, make one.
when you've done this, your entire path is going to be images/styles/softexpressions
Then go to your acp --> Styles and templates --> style manager --> download/upload styles --> Import Style XML File --> browse to the xml file for this style on your computer, don't mess with any other setting there, import it, and there you go

Load the 'softexpressions' to images/styles folder

as i was transferring the SE folder into styles, but it says it already includes certain files (i don't see how, as i've only just created the folder) and do i want to overwrite them?

now, it says the ones already there are about a month old, so i'm not convinced i want to overwrite as it feels like it'll much up other stuff.

help, somebody?!

did you ftp the SE folder itself, or just what's in it? The SE folder itself needs to be ftp'd up.

it was while i was doing that that i got the clashing files.

but there shouldn't be anything in the styles folder to clash with. You created that folder right off of images correct? It's not inside any other folder?

the only folder i've created is "styles".

hang on - i'll remove what i've done so far, and try again!

Miner told me to change the width in two places in the Main CSS...in the header and then on the header width line I think 5 boxes down under Header box. I think it's set at 80%. I changed mine to 95% because my members prefer very wide.

can't see anything about widths there.....
