My account has been banned because my pages are not up to the "new" standards...

My email:

Dear Christopher,

ShoppingAds is undergoing a revamping and in the process has redefined the requirements of quality and traffic volume for the publishers we work with. Due to this restructuring, we regret to inform you that we have had to deactivate your account moving forward. If you have remaining earnings in your account from your last payout. You needn't worry- you WILL be paid on or after our next payout date, March 1st, 2009.

Thank you kindly for your cooperation, and good luck with your future marketing endeavors.

The ShoppingAds Team.

[No earnings for all of January]

Due to little or no earnings your account has been removed.
We will attempt to pay for any last revenue you may have after our next payout date.
Thank you!
*shrug* It's really no major loss for me. I removed them from most of my pages ages ago, as I've earned less then a dollar from them... but their ads were better suited then google on the pages I did have them on.

I do wonder if they will actually give me my sign up bonus, lol...

IMHO, the ban was in bad form, as they gave no advance warning to such changes and did not offer a time frame to increase the popularity of my pages or to offer a chance of getting their ads on more pages so I could increase the traffic for them.

This I guess is the last straw for me for a company that has repeatedly done nothing but perpetuate their bad karma towards me and many of their other publishers.... yeah, yeah, my sites are slow, but still, no warning? No advance notice? and to say good by to me by simply BANNING my account.... that's bad form on every level, as that's certainly no way to say "good bye". As I am a forum owner, I generally reserve the title of BANNED for someone that actually deserved such a title.

Oh well,
Q

That the nature of the beast the open the network to everybody and anybody when they start to gain traction to start to tighten ship. You really cannot blame them.

However I agree it could of been worded better but they obviously don't care since you're not a publisher of theirs anymore.

Heh, according to them, I wasn't a publisher before I was banned, lol.

Though honestly, putting my account on hold or set it as pending would be better then BANNED. Now I'm in the same boat as the people that actually broke rules or screwed them over.

It's not that my account was disabled, it's the way it way it was done... but yeah, heh. The nature of the beast.

Honestly, I think you're making more of it than it is. Nowhere does it say you're 'banned', it says they removed your account due to low activity. It's not worth the effort for them to keep you on. You've mentioned many times that you don't earn anything with them, correct?

I actually thought it was worded well.

This is also on the login screen

Your account has been banned

So yeah, I am banned...

As for it being worded well, fair enough, though it's still bad form to just kick me out of the network without word or warning for me to make changes. It's not like I actually broke any rules.

. but shoppingads are garbage to me now.

Heh, yeah... for ages now I've been saying "I should get rid of these ads, they are not doing much for me" and grumbling and muttering in various threads about them. In a way, I guess I am happy that they finally made up my mind... though honestly, if they would have prompted me earlier then I possibly would have upped the potential of these ads... especially as I've recently upped the number of ads on my site and one of the things I was considering was ad rotation *shrug* I guess I'm good with Google now...
