Peggy 08-03-2006, 10:51 AM if you need any help, just holler!
if you need any help, just holler!
I sure will. Should I attempt it now or at night while the girls are not on?
Peggy 08-03-2006, 11:05 AM I would wait til they're not on.
I mean, it's not a big deal, not at all like installing it. You have to delete the config.php file and the install.php file, they do NOT get ftp'd up to your server. Other than that, ftp the files up and run the upgrade script. Takes all of about 10 mins or less. But then there's going to be alot of templates to revert, plus the upgraded hacks to do.
so yeah you might want to wait, lol

Thanks for mentioning that. I forgot about the hack updates. I have to get those organized first before I can upgrade to 3.6. I'll work on that now.

ITS HERE!! WOOT!!
:) Vbulletin 3.6.0 GOLD RELEASED! (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=194072)
Peggy 08-03-2006, 11:23 AM It was announced here (http://www.vbulletin-faq.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1424)a little while ago ;)
Joeychgo 08-03-2006, 12:31 PM vB.org has this posted:
Due to the overwhelming demand for vBulletin 3.6, vBulletin.org will be temporary closed to relieve the server. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Peggy 08-03-2006, 12:42 PM this doesn't surprise me a bit.
.com darn near 'bout crashed earlier today. Prior to releasing 3.6.0, Kier put these funny little sayings up in the upper right-hand corner of the forum, where they had the version they were running, and everytime the page refreshed there was some new cute something up there, so EVERYONE was doing page refreshes and the site slowed to a crawl.
Once he announced that it was released they went bonkers
semann 08-03-2006, 12:42 PM so... is vb faq gonna update soon?
semann 08-03-2006, 12:43 PM vB.org has this posted:

Joeychgo 08-03-2006, 12:45 PM Very soon. I'll wait for the rush to DL to subside a bit.

Peggy 08-03-2006, 05:38 PM Yep!
Darn!what's a pdf issue?
any major new changes to 3.6?
nope, just bug fixes
I don't know, but this one guy posted that he can't download Gold and the Vb rep pointed him to a link about it. I don't understand, but I'm still reading. :p
Peggy 08-03-2006, 05:58 PM Tanya I was just over there reading. I'm glad I didn't download a copy for one site yet. But I did for my VBI site, so off to get the patch I go.
It's something to do with Internet Explorer browser, pdf file attachments and a vBulletin security issue. It'll be fixed tonight. They got Kier out of bed to work on it, lol
They did suspend downloads of 3.6.0 until they had it fixed, now that the patch is posted on the release thread, they're fixing the download package. It should be ready shortly
Peggy 08-03-2006, 06:34 PM Downloads are back on!
mattyk72 08-03-2006, 07:16 PM I should have been more specific...
What are the changes from 3.5 to 3.6? Anything new?
Peggy 08-03-2006, 07:38 PM I'm not sure of exactly all of the changes hun.... there's a list of them on the 3.6 Beta 1 release list at .com.
mattyk72 08-04-2006, 08:06 AM ok thanks I'll check that out.
