Interested in a simple and easy way to make money with your vBulletin forum?

Sell Text Link Ads.

A text link ad is where someone else pays you a fee every month and in exchange you place a text link ad on your forum. It's that simple. Often, the text link can be located in a place your not using anyway, such as your footer.

Yes, it is that simple. Once more there are 2 very reputable companies that sell these links for you. All you have to do is place the links on your site when they are ordered. For this, you get a check every month.

It costs you nothing but a few minutes of your time to sign up, so you have nothing to lose. Here are 2 very reputable companies. I recommend you sign up today, and tomorrow you may start earning money!

http://www.text-link-ads.com/images/text_link_ads_F_468x60.gif (http://tinyurl.com/2pjawu)

http://www.linkworth.com/adm/affiliate_manager/affiliate_banners/bann-5.gif (http://www.linkworth.com?a=307)

I use both of these companies. Basically, they sell the ads for you and take a percentage of the sale. How much each link is worth depends on your site. I have sites that I earn $15 a month per link, and others where I get $100 a month per link. When you have several links, the money can really add up fast. Oh, and they both pay by Check or Paypal. (linkworth also has direct deposit I believe)

It works out real well in my opinion. Give it a try!

Good Luck.

Just as a heads up, Text Link Ads is a harder then most program to get into and you've usually got to have a pretty decent amount of traffic to be accepted.

I've got a site that does 20K unique easily each month and got turned down. Someone else I know also got turned down and they have a PR3 that gets 150,000 uniqes/mo and got turned down because I don't have enough quality backlinks.

Funny thing is I had no problem what so ever getting approved for either Adsense, YPN or any other affiliate program.

Either way - it doesnt hurt to apply.

Um.... I applied right after I opened my new site and was accepted right away.
I haven't had any business from them yet, being a new site. But they accepted me ;)

So did I but now I'm wondering whether either of these programs would violate the AdSense ToS.

Joeychgo

Why? Their not contextual... Ive been running them for about 2 years without a problem.

OK. I signed up to both (using your referral numbers by the way). Haven't had a chance to check the details of the programs yet.

I figure it's probably time to dump Amazon and give someone else a try but I don't want to lose AdSense in the process.

I agree you can simply do both and earn even more. Also text-link-ads is not that hard to get into if you have a site that has been online for a little while, have some good traffic and PR and you should be fine.

their system seems very complicated. they sent me an email saying i was rejected because my price is to high. thats fine, im willing to lower it and they say i can.....however, ive searched their site from one end to the other and cant find where i can lower my price.

very complicated and hard to navigate and manage.

It was pretty simple for TLA... I signed up and was immediately approved.

Are there any companies like this that publish banners ads instead of text ads?

Joeychgo
07-16-2007, 01:26 PM
http://www.adtoll.com/ -- but they just launched

Sonnie
07-16-2007, 08:05 PM
I signed up with those guys, but I don't like the way they set you up. I have to place banner code on my site and tell them how much I'll charge for it. They don't really have the right banner sizes I want either. None the less, where I would place them I'd take something else away, and I'm not gonna take those away until I know for sure they got an advertiser for me. Doesn't look too good.

TLA also looks like it will be a slim chance for me to ever get any ads. I was looking at the publishers they have available to advertise with and I'll be competing against too many. So it's doubtful I'll get any.

I'm still looking for some ideas on other CPM type advertising where there is someone who will work with you on finding an advertiser... if anyone knows of any. Tribal Fusion requires 2,000 uniques per day and we arn't quite there yet.

Beware of paid links, it could harm your SERP on Google, those Google buddy hate paid links

What does SERP stand for and what makes you think having paid links affects the SERPS

eJM

Joey,

SERP = Search Engine Results Pages

Google has been known to degrade a site for paid link systems. Some of these are attributed to directories. I have a feeling it's a fine line. Some do very well, others get penalized. I don't know any secrets in that regard.

Caddyman

IDK if it will affect your serp, but i think it has a good chance of getting you penalized for your PR. Thru the last update i lost PR on TalkDelaware and i think it is because of the TLA publishing i do. My SERP's are the same though, no affect there.

I have TLA on 2 different sites and my PR has gone up on both and has not went down. So I guess it might just be luck. ;)

I know Jim - I was testing. :)

Right now, there is no evidence that just having paid links or buying links will affect your standings in the serps. Linking to band neighborhoods can cause problems, but in general, having a few paid links only affects your PR, which is a recent development.

See www.joeychgo.com (http://www.joeychgo.com) for more on this.

You set the price - then people decide to buy or not. If they buy, you get xxx dollars per month depending on what price you set and how many ads are bought.

Anyone have any idea how to get the Linkworth ads to work? I signed up months ago (years?) and never heard from them, but just today someone wants to place ads on my site. I accepted the offer but now I don't know how to get them to display.

When I go to get the code, here are the options:
File Inclusion for PHP page
File Inclusion for ASP page
File Inclusion for CFM page
File Inclusion for PERL page
Local File Inclusion for PHP page

I choose "File Inclusion for PHP page" and then received PHP code, but I"m not sure how to set it up...I"m sure I would have to use a plugin but I don't really have any idea. Here is the code provided:

<?php
$fp = @fsockopen("www.linkworth.com", "80",$errno, $errstr, $timeout="5");
if($fp)
{
require 'http://www.linkworth.com/act/partner/rotating_ads/inclusion_links.php?prt_website_id=XXXXX&prt_website_link_placement_location=3&prt_website_link_placement_id=XXXXX&link_format=2';
}
?>

This has to be easy, right? Can someone help? I sent an email to their support and they referred me to a thread on vbulletin.com that has been deleted.

Thanks
Todd

Iam new to this, so I had a question.

What do they mean when they ask you

Offer LinkPost (paid blog reviews)
Offer LinkInTxt (selling keywords from your content)
Offer LinkBB (full page ads hosted on your site)
Offer LinkWords (in-content pay per click ads)

Which ones should I click yes to or no too?

Joeychgo
03-15-2008, 05:41 PM
Each one is a different kind of link. They should have an explanation of each on the site.

You can not run php code inside templates. The code must be put in the right hook location - as a plugin.

There used to be a plugin floating around - but I dont know where it is anymore. You might have to have someone make a plugin for you.

Well just look at the profile they are building up, on each and every one of us. THAT is what they will sell.

I mean, just look at anyones profile and it is surprising how much they give away about themselves, through their questions and answers.

Joey, are the text link ads still workin' out for you?

I've sold a couple of text link ads recently on my own at $15 per month. So, I know that folks will pay for it. I'm just wondering if these are still going strong or has anyone experienced any issues before I proceed with applying.
