We have upgraded vBFAQ to vBulletin 4.0.

It'll take a little time to fully convert. So please be patient. Thanks for understanding.

Looks like it could use some styling here :D

Edit: and your advertisements are all missing, that's gotta be hurting

congrats on taking the plunge to upgrade
I see you're using the "SEO" url's, why take the chance on getting everything reindexed? I thought you said long ago that the URL's aren't important, that would of been in the VBSEO discussions.

cheers

yup, and vbseo will do a 301 redirect as well
I'm more or less questioning the fact that you stated that "seo" url's aren't important, but you're using them here.

I'm not trying to start a fight, just asking questions.
There are sites like digitalpoint that are running 4.x but didn't enable the "seo" url's because they didn't think it was needed.

Just wondering why you changed your mind

thx

Does vB4 do 301 redirects off the old URL structure automatically?

I'd still like Joey's opinion on the new SEO url's verses the old style.
Sites looking good, I like the change of color :)

IM still having alot of problems with the CMS and the syle, getting it to work properly. This is one of the VB provided skins and as you can see its full of bugs.

So far it looks pretty good. I'm disappointed that even you're having so many problems with 4.0.4. I'm hoping that 4.0.5 might cure some ails but I realize making this user friendly (reply buttons are maddening) will be a major task - including bug fixing.

Ditto. The SEO URLS for vB stock are terrible, perhaps marginally more useful than without them. My dilemma is whether to go to vbseo for my pretty large board. While they are supposedly not "needed" they sure as heck will improve profiling like mysite.com/members/username and blogs/username - which vBulletin still make fugly.

Regarding Digitalpoint, I'm not sure he cares about vbseo because its use would create additional strain on an already busy server. His site has hit its niche. For most other sites, we're still not in the "Alexa 500" category (only meaning active well known boards already that are known word of mouth even more than needing SE) so getting listed for organic search is still a top priority.

Speaking about server load... wouldn't all those 301s create sufficient server load? After all, think of your inbound links to this site as well as the need to do a lookup there too. Just a thought.
