Ported my marvel2 skin to vB3.6 with few design change made to the header + customised the postbit legacy template...

Load the images file 'marveltwo' into your images/styles folder if you dont have an styles folder then create a new one...

what i did was load the marvel two file into my htdocs folder is that what you mean?

Ok you have your vb inside the foum folder so now load the marveltwo file to forum/images/styles

if new you wont find a file named styles inside your images folder, so create a new file named 'styles' and upload the marveltwo

computervitals... did you make sure that you have the full path to the images in the stylevars section of your style in the acp? Without the full path... meaning http:// www.yoursitename.com/forum/ preceding the images/stylename/imagename.gif, styles wont work on vbadvanced

Try running the install script of vbadvanced again, so it can correct the image url's to be absolute (change them to be "image/styles/image.jpg" to "http://yoursite.com/forum/image/styles/image.jpg")

Also, try to understand that miner has greatly customized his templates and because of that they might not be compatible with every add-on out there. That's why he asks for your site's address so he can help you with the problems you might have with his skins, and he does it all for free.

Really the skin and set of bottons is very beautiful.
I use vBa in my forum. And adapted navbar [breadcrumbs] to change 'foruns' and 'portal'.
I will make this mod in template?
How can I make other navbar or include more 'bottons'?

I see if you use more buttons the style will expand out of normal screen width, so best is to place the link buttons on top next to 'forum slogan goes here' what text and how many extra buttons you need?

Check this buttons, you have load it in the misc folder and insert the code on the header template next to head_left.jpg and link to it...

the images on vBadvanced and vBlinks now its ok - i just set all the path in main config of templates
changing images/styles/marveltwo/image >> http://www.vb-brasil...etc.etc.

Ya sure you will have it now...

link button and i notice one problem you have extended the logo jpg too long so if you insert this links button then it will expand out of screen size...

better reduce the logo image a bit...

Sorry guys, been busy with work.
I got it working, The style is working perfectly.

For I did load into the directory like it states, but my vbadvanced for some reason looks at "root"/images not "root"/forum/images/style

I just uploaded a 2nd copy of the style in the images just like instructions say in the root images.
So I have a copy like this
"root"/forum/images/styles/marvel2
"root"/images/styles/marvel2

I'm resuming work on this template for my site now.

Heres what I would like to do.

I run vBAdvanced

When I am at the portal page (Home) I would like the 1st button to say Forum and link to the forums.
Then when I'm in the forum, I would like the 1st button to say "Home"

I have gotten the buttons to do that, but I can't get the linking to switch from home to forum. When I use the Navbar code for VBA:

I'll explain why,.. this very same color scheme design was originallly done by MAZ of InvisionCube which by the way was called Subway2 for Invision Power Board 2.1.x then he recently upgraded it to work with IPB 2.2.x series,..

It's a great color I've used it for years myself when Maz designed it you can take a look here. http://www.dofch.com/forumsipb

So basically Marvel was made to copy that look which is cool by me cause I also run VBulletin.

Again this is not to cause any trouble or issues just wanted to point that out to ya'll.

Still in all a great skin & I would support it as well.

I disagree completely. Just because miner used similar colors, you think it's a copy of the other one?

Many designers have used those same colors, lol. That's where the similarity ends, as far as I can tell.

One of my members has bumped into a problem while using this skin. I don't know what to tell her. I switched over to this skin and had no probs and was unable to duplicate her issues. FWIW, I use Mac OS 10.4.9 and used both FF and Safari to test. She runs a win machine and uses IE. Here's what she told me:

I'm continuing to have problems that I initially thought were being caused by the Yahoo GoodSearch toolbar I have since uninstalled. While I still had it installed I was coming to the conclusion that the issues were caused by some interaction between the toolbar and vBulletin. I'm still having the problems at JB though.

I'm using the Marvel2 skin. What happens is when I try to do a Quick Reply I get hung up with "(2 items remaining) Downloading picture http://www.jasperbeach.net/cron.php?&rand=55482..." displayed in the message area at the bottom of the IE window. Then the screen just sits there with the progress bar at about 1/4 across, the message that effectively says Quick Reply is processing my reply, and the hourglass on the screen. At the extreme it also causes any other windows/applications that I have open to slow down drastically. In some cases the only solution is a hard reboot.

I was having the problem last night after uninstalling the toolbar and rebooting at least twice. Once I close JB I can do things normally here and at other sites.

I did recently install Windows Live Messenger repplacing MSN Messenger, but that was after I first noticed this problem.

FYI I tried to reply to AG in my thread on the tech forum last night but I experienced this problem and never did get to where I could post.

When I clicked the link in her note I got this error:

If the cron.php file is not being found on your site, you need to re-upload it.
While it's probably there, it might have been a bad upload on that file.

I don't that this will solve the problem tho. Since I've never encountered that issue, I don't know what to tell you.

I can do this (I'll have to dig through those folders for this file, yes?) -- but I agree with you, I don't think it will solve her prob. Especially since this skin works fine for me. This is the same gal who had their icky toolbar installed and who thinks she knows it all, but always, always has probs. :p She will turn my hair gray despite my hairdressers best efforts. :D

All the skins from Miner have this alert. :( No other skins do. This is what it says for Marvel2:
