Google's newest acquisition it's back up and running. Complimenting the launch of google spreadsheets now you can create online text documents and collaborate with others, publish them or post them on your blog.
Take the tour (http://www.writely.com/?action=tour) or check out the FAQ (http://www.writely.com/?action=faq). It might not be more than a WYSIWYG editor but the collaborative features are what make this tool so interesting to me.

While free may be cool. Like blogs, the privacy issues are paramount and you lose all your rights using such services. I'm 100% sure these services are not allowed by most employers and you should consider the consequences of using such services. Many a person has been burned, it's just not in the best interest of the media to talk about it as they are whores to advertising dollars.

I agree with Noppid's privacy rant. I've used it to work on collborative projects with my old boss when I did their website work. All the text would written in MS Word and we'd go back and fourth.
Anyhow, at least it's finally open to the public. I'm tired of Goggle buying stuff then making it invitation only.

LOL!!!!
I read the thread title quickly and saw "Google Re-Launches Whitey". So of course I had to click on it to see what the hell Google was doing now.
I was disappointed when I read the thread, though.

Privacy issues arise even with the use of proven tech like e-mail. I agree it's not for everybody and it's far from beign perfect. It's just another tool.
