hi everyone my name is Diego

i had some trouble setting up a new skin for my forum, i just got Vbulletin and i dont know a lot of stuff.
I downloaded two diffent skins, i unzipped them to my computer, uploaded the folder with all the images to my server and installed the .xml file
but when i try to see i try to use the new skin it doesnt look like the demo i saw, looks like the Vbulletin default one but with the colors of the new skin
its like it merged or something, i deleted the .xml and tired again but still no luck

i would appreciate any help
thanks.

oh yeah i also had another question but i dont want to bother anyone making a new thread; i downloaded a set of buttons but i dont know how to install those = /

Is your forum live? Could you link us so we can see what you're talking about?

I know what he did...he probably did merge the new style with the default style. You have to choose default as parent style and then upload the xml file.

someone had asked that question somewhere here, and I believe noppid answered it, but I didn't read it, so I don't know, lol. Hopefully he'll see this and answer it here as well

My suggestion was to set percentages for each <td> in the custom templates.

Thanks noppid i will try this for my styles...

ok ill try that, thanks for the responses

there is another way to solve this:

Goto admincp> vBullettin options> Forum listings Display options> scroll down and find 'Last Thread Title Maximum Displayed Characters'

set value to 15 or 20 and save...

yes i checked your site, the above wont work as you have categories set private which doesnt dispaly the last thread...

i will try to code the design as noppid suggests and will update it...
