Can someone patiently explain to me what (if any)
are the differences in the (vB-related) nomenclature:
skin
style
theme
banner
logo

I'm looking for a simple "whatever-it-is" to use on
a vBv4 install, on which I can have a pretty "what-
ever-it-is" (pic) that indicates a forum with an
interest in food and gardening and sustainability.

And, talking of a vB install, anyone got any guidance
on how much I can leave out? I want to keep the
forum as simple as possible. No call the hairdresser,
make the coffee, follow fiends clutter. (Did I leave
out an 'r' there, somewhere?

KISS is the name of the game.

Skin, Style and Theme are all the same thing.

Logo is the logo of the site or of a company.

Banner usually refers to a graphic - such as the one for supergreen hosting. Often they are advertising related.

OK - thanks. So what I see towards
the top of this page, (at the moment,
called Viglink) is actually the banner?

Another question: how many levels
of Admin are there? (as in permissions)

Yet another question. Is it possible to
change the code embedded behind
[+Reply to Thread] button (top and
bottom), so that it's the same as
behind the [Go Advanced] button?
(To get an all options text entry box)

Yes - the VigLink ad is a banner.

Err -- there are several permissions for admins. Every admin doesnt have to have access to the same things as other admins.

As far as changing code, yes. You can change code in the templates. Im not sure what you want to do, but thats where you want to do it.

I knew there were variants - just wondered how many.

Forum members 'complaining' that [Reply to Thread] should be the same embedded
code as [Go Advanced], rather than [Post Quick Reply]

Something I whole-heartedly agree with.
