I had to ban someone from Hairy Jedi recently.
They knew how google adsense works with it's invalid click generation policy. and I'm assuming it was them that decided to keep clicking on the ads and lost me the account.
It's a shame there's no way to prevent this sort of malicious behaviour.
Guess I'll wait for YPN to get over here

Dont assume thats the reason.
I would write adsense back. Explain you have done nothing that violates Adsense TOS and ask them to investigate further and reconsider your removal from adsense..
I got dumped too yesterday. They said too much clicking. I don't know how to stop that either. :(
Oh and I had my husband write a letter and he said they told him they would have to get back to him in 48 hours. :(

Sorry to hear that Tanya. There are other avenues you can take tho.
My suggestion would be to sell link space on your forum. You have a well-established forum, pretty busy, and in a niche market, so I think you'd do very well if you signed up with Linkworth or even Commission Junction. I'm with both.

OK I'll look into those. Thanks!

Adsense is like marshall law, IMO. As soon as I find a better setup, I'm ditching adsense.. Well actually, I'd like to build up $100 so I can actually get paid for the waste of space.

I appealed against their decision, and upon further investigation, they came to the same conclusion.
What do you call a woman with 6 lagers on her head?

I was dumped about a month ago. I wrote them and they re-activated my account. I explained to them that I run a forum and it's possible for a user to click the ads quite a bit to maybe, help out the site. They responded that I have a good record with them and that I am reinstated.
It just doesn't make sense. How hard would it be to write a small script that would prevent an IP from clicking the ads a numerous number of times??

On a previous site that I was involved with when we introduced adsense we made the mistake of explaining to our members that we had done it to help offset the costs of the hosting. Our kind members thinking they were helping promptly went on a click fest. The result was that when we tried to get at our first pay chq Google banned us. We appealed against their decision but it was rejected. We even asked for no payment and to be allowed back into the scheme but that was rejected too.
As much as I agree that they have a right to protect their advertisers the way that some sites have been banned and the fact that most only get banned when they are due the money makes it very unfair. There is also no independent adjudication that can be turned to for a fair hearing.
My current site has been running adsense for just over a month now but today we were checking the rules and believe we may have inadvertently broken them again. We are a photography site and so in our photo sharing and critique sections we are showing ads along with pictures.
Copyrighted Material
In order to avoid associations with copyright claims, website publishers may not display Google ads on web pages with MP3, Video, News Groups, and Image Results
In most cases a photographer owns a photograph and the copyright to it, so technically we are breaking their rules again. However I have seen many sites with Adsense running in galleries and with pictures.
I wonder if it is best to email Google for clarification or just stay quiet and hope that we don’t fall foul to the big G once again?

I did that and they told me I couldn't have it back so we are Adsense-less forever.
