R/C Attacker!

Hey, this is my brand new forum, finally on vBulletin, called R/C Attacker. www.rcattacker.com It's actually only about a week old but so far so good. I still have a lot to do and most recently got the shoutbox and vbPlaza. I tried to get a cool skin but it didn't work as well as a gallery that didn't work. But let me know what you think so far anyway.

Having had a little exposure to Nitro R/C, I think your forum is what I would expect to see topic wise.

I like the header, again, what I'd expect to see. However, the text in it would look a little better if the jagged edges were cleaned up.

R/C is popular and cool (Cool is my opinion). I think you have something there. Nice work.

Do you have plans for a skin?

Thanks for the positive feedback man! Yeah, I have tried to get a skin called "Black & Gold" but I couldn't get the images loaded so I deleted it. I am going to wait for my good friend to get back, he should know how to do it. I look around for skins a lot, and I'm not afraid to install a few but I have trouble every time so I'm going to wait for him to help me. There is another skin, but it's the same thing just with a different banner if you want to check it out. I'll see what I can do with the letters...I made the banners with GIMP.

Yeah, it's an amazing shoutbox, with no refresh or anything, it uses AJAX. Smilies, fonts, colors. Great. Go here (http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=93097) and thanks for liking my header banner.

Oh I already have this sb on my site. But it doesn't have the shouters on the right hand side like yours does

Wow! I just figured out the skin!!! Now I'm gonna get skins all over town! Check it out.

The black style is very nice, even tho it hurts my eyes to look at it.
All of the other styles look unfinished.

Lol, well in addition to that I tried to make my own. It's called Crap....I mean Grey. All I knew how to do is change the colors and it came out so bad. I don't know how to change all the blue borders.

I'm usually good at this stuff but I have no clue what I'm doing. How to people like make the good skins? I don't just mean changes colors, like change the whole look and the way stuff is displayed and stuff? I want to get into that.

Unfortunately there are no tutorials out there. I looked. SO... I set up a testforum (you can do that as long as it's not public), and dove into the styles section of my vB.
Most of the work is done in the Main CSS and StyleVars. You need a graphics software like Photoshop or paintshop pro or Xara Xtreme (I'm saving for XX).
Go to the images folder of your vB download on your computer and check out all the images there are. Then make you own.

Okay, I see what your saying. I figured that's what you would have to do. It sounds a little crazy....I mean the good skins that are made, these people have time and skill. I have GIMP. Maybe I'll try one one day.

I don't have skill. I fly by the seat of my pants and sheer luck! I pray that every style will turn out the way I want it to. haha

What header image? I'd recommend working on one, when I load the page I see a black and yellow skin (which is hard to read imo) with a yellow and black "Vbulletin" text as the header. I say get a header that says/shows what the site is about R/C's!

Minus the header it looks to be a good start!

Sorry I just seen the default style and didn't go looking for others. I agree with Ohio, the header on the other styles are pretty good looking.

RC Attacker - thanks for the kind words. No I am not Rob2007, I haven't registered on your forum. BTW I didn't realize HPISavageForum was back online, last I heard that site had all sorts of problems I thought it was taken down. Do you own that as well?

Yeah HPISF has crazy problems....well we are doing good now. About a month ago we were getting hit with these crazy spam accounts that would have their user names in their "Years of R/C Experience" profile field. It was weird. We banned them as they came and no they're in a miserable users group. I think it worked. I don't own it but I super mod it. I'm like on the verge of an admin. I have better permissions and stuff and have been an admin just to do something. Their owner is an admin at my forum though. So yeah....we are there, but been through lots of problems.
