Is it just me or does it seem like there are hardly any "posts" showing up in Google's index from vBulletin forums (I didn't check other software results)?

I can find "threads" all day long but "posts" seem few and far between. Any ideas?

same with my site. But I figured it was because of the nature of my site.

By posts, I assume you mean LIKE THIS (http://www.vbulletin-faq.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1381&postcount=1)

The 'posts' are basically the furthest from the homepage of the site.

A search engine spider indexing another page somewhere finds the link to a web site, www.vbulletin-faq.com (http://www.vbulletin-faq.com).

On that page it finds a link to http://www.vbulletin-faq.com/forum/.

On that page it finds a link to http://www.vbulletin-faq.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=17.

On that page it finds a link to http://www.vbulletin-faq.com/forum/showthread.php?t=186

Finally on that page it finds a link to http://www.vbulletin-faq.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1381&postcount=1

That is 6 steps, a long journey. For google to spider that deep you really need to have decent pagerank and some deep linking. By deep linking I mean links to individual forums, links to individual threads, and links to the archive.

When I am linking, I typically link to all parts of a forum. The archive, individual forums, individual threads, forumhome, the homepage, etc etc.

Hope that helps a bit.

Hi Joey,
I understand the concept but I can't convince myself that this is the reason for so few posts showing up.

For example, here are a couple of pages [threads] from DP
(http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=50%29)
http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=33
http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=50Each page is showing PR2 yet none of the posts linked to from either page [thread] are indexed.

I'm thinking the multiple parameters in the dynamic URL might be the issue. :(

There is one.

The mulitple parameters shouldnt be an issue for google. They have stated before that 2-3 variables is ok.
