Disable Pruning?

Looks to me like you may have pruning enabled. You'll want to turn that off or old posts will get deleted (they aren't just hidden - they actually are deleted).

In the admin cp go to the forum manager & select "edit". There's on an option 4 or 5 fields down called " Default View Age (Default date cut-off for thread display)". Set that option to "show all threads" and you should be in business.

that is just the default view - a user can always set it differently

Sorry, I just used the wrong term…

9 out of 10 people will never change the setting from "use forum default". So if you default to the option I listed above it saves a lot of "where did those posts go" messages. Setting it to anything less screws with people's post counts too, which always leads to bunch more unnecessary questions.

We're looking at 10-15 cms here in Ottawa today. We Canadians like centimeters instead of inches but it makes us look bigger :D

Well we've had about 4 inches so far (10 cm) but it was the slippery greasy stuff -- more than 2 hours to get home with what is normally a 40 minute drive. Apparfently, we can expect about another 10 cm overnight.

How is Chicago? Apart from the Bears I mean :eek:
