v3 ArticlesResaleBroker 01-10-2005, 04:50 PM Has anyone installed the v3 Articles mod before and if so how did it work out for you? Jason McConnell 01-10-2005, 05:56 PM I did install it, used it a little, and then once I upgraded to 3.0.5, I didn't bother reinstalling the hack. I just made a new forum for articles, increased the word count that was allowed and it was more or less the same thing :) rex_B 01-10-2005, 06:00 PM I use it. Works well for me b/c it organizes and keeps seperate articles from forums. I think it's just a personal preference. Joeychgo 01-10-2005, 06:20 PM I thought about using it and didnt for 2 reasons. 1. I prefer to have some straight HTML pages for articles - I believe the contrast between html pages and vb pages is helpful with search engines; 2. I prefer to have straight HTML pages for articles because I have a little more control over the look and feel of the html; 3. If I wanted the pages to look and feel like vB then I could use the CMPS pages and make custom pages. ResaleBroker 01-10-2005, 08:26 PM I had installed it previously but opted not to with 3.05 for most of the same reasons.:) Infinite 01-10-2005, 10:09 PM I was thinking of using it. My new site is going to have an articles system, and I want it to tie into vbulletin. There's one that is being used by www.iamnotageek.com that I like, but it's customized and the guy isn't going to release it. vbulletin needs a good articles system in place. theMusicMan 01-11-2005, 07:42 AM I use it but am thinking of dropping it... it hasn't really had the desired effect for me...:( ResaleBroker 01-11-2005, 11:32 AM There is a new Articles mod at: http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=74189 This has potential. :) theMusicMan 01-11-2005, 11:54 AM Oooh nice... thanks for the link. Joeychgo 01-11-2005, 12:38 PM im impressed - cause cinq is rewriting another hack that I love - it should be awsome! rex_B 01-11-2005, 02:07 PM Mine doesn't get that much use. So I'm leaving it. | |
