SalesPractice.comResaleBroker 01-11-2005, 09:44 PM We have a brand new sales and marketing forum, SalesPractice (http://www.salespractice.com/forums/). Feel free to stop by anytime. ;) Infinite 01-15-2005, 10:03 PM Looks a bit "default". I'm sure with time you'll get it off the ground. ResaleBroker 01-15-2005, 10:21 PM The forum is a week old today. I've installed a couple mods and skin styles but that's it. For now, that will have to do. I'm turning my focus more to content and promotion. Joeychgo 01-15-2005, 10:22 PM Have you listed it in our directory? ResaleBroker 01-15-2005, 10:28 PM Have you listed it in our directory?Yes. If MSN Beta (http://beta.search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=sales+training&FORM=QBHP) would go live I think I might be able to get a few members. :) ResaleBroker 03-15-2005, 08:01 PM I've added quite a few more categories since my original post. In relations to "Sales and Marketing" do you see any categories missing or that you would expect to see? ResaleBroker 06-08-2005, 11:15 PM Ok, I've just revised the "look" of my Non-VB home page (http://www.salespractice.com/) and would be interested in other's feedback. I realize it's pretty basic but other than that what do you think? Joeychgo 06-09-2005, 01:30 AM Pretty basic - but clean looking - Not too bad ResaleBroker 06-09-2005, 08:08 AM Thanks for taking a look. I appreciate the feedback :) theMusicMan 06-10-2005, 09:02 AM Had a quick look... all I'd say is that when people visit your site they may think... "hmmm... another typical vB type forum..." I'd suggest making the green gradient style your default style and perhaps look at purchasing a commercial skin and getting that customised. Content is important of course, but so are first impressions. They are what makes visitors delve further into your site even before they see any content. Oh... please don't be offended but please do something else with your homepage... vBA CMPS would be a far better bet than what you presently have. ResaleBroker 06-10-2005, 09:04 AM Thanks for the helpful suggestions. I appreciate the feedback. :) ResaleBroker 06-10-2005, 09:31 AM I'd suggest making the green gradient style your default style...How would I go about doing that? Is that something fairly easy to change in the CP? theMusicMan 06-10-2005, 02:37 PM How would I go about doing that? Is that something fairly easy to change in the CP? Yup, in the AdminCP > vBulletin Options > Style & Language Settings > Default Style should do it for ya... ResaleBroker 06-10-2005, 04:34 PM I had no idea you could do that. Thanks John! :) ResaleBroker 06-10-2005, 10:15 PM Ok, I added a new skin. How does it look now? theMusicMan 06-10-2005, 11:33 PM You mean vBStyles BlueSaint style? If so, I don't see it as default though. When I visited I still had the style I applied last time and had to manually change the style to bluesaint to see it. Personally I like bluesaint. It is a very fast loading style, is clinical (good for a sales site) in appearance and is also very clean. However, personally I feel it looks similar to the stock vB style (i.e. blues) and as such I would change some of the colours and gradients to make it (1) somewhat unique and (2) have additional appeal. Even if it is only slight subtle changes, this will have an enormous effect on visitors first impressions of your site. Sorry... I still see that awful frontpage though... have you looked at vBAdvanced yet? It is free and you would be able to make your frontpage look 100% better than it does now. Good work though... you are certainbly getting there. Joeychgo 06-10-2005, 11:48 PM Tsk Tsk........ Only 90 Backlinks. Time to get to work.... ResaleBroker 06-11-2005, 12:14 AM The BlueSaint is now set up correctly as the default. When I get a chance I'm sure there will be "tweakin" going on. ;) I'll make some time this weekend to check out vBAdvanced. ResaleBroker 06-11-2005, 12:16 AM Tsk Tsk........ Only 90 Backlinks. Time to get to work....Tell me about it. I am so behind on links it isn't even funny. :( KitKramer 06-20-2005, 12:32 AM Hmm... Some call it basic, but with a bit of work I think you'll have a very streamline and simple but sophisticated looking site. Namely -- get rid of the stock new-forum-topic images (the clipboards) ResaleBroker 06-20-2005, 06:30 AM Hmm... Some call it basic, but with a bit of work I think you'll have a very streamline and simple but sophisticated looking site. Namely -- get rid of the stock new-forum-topic images (the clipboards)Thank you for the feedback. I've gone ahead and replaced the "clipboards." If you have any other ideas I'm all ears. ;) Thanks Again! | |
