Adsense Revenue Sharing Hack

Does anyone know if this has been released anywhere yet?

I've seen it at a couple different forums. I'll dig around for the code.

Here is the letter from Google to confirm it's ok:

Currently, it is not against AdSense program policies to display ad code
from other publisher's on your sites. You can review our complete program
policies at https://www.google.com/adsense/policies.

The AdSense ad code on the 'Ad layout code' page is valid for any page in
any site that complies with our program policies. Please note AdSense
publishers are only allowed one set of Google ads (one copy of the AdSense
ad code) on each page.

We constantly monitor all of the web pages displaying Google ads. If we
find that one of your web pages violates our policies, we will notify you
and ask you to remove the AdSense ad code from that page.

I thought about puting that on this site - but to be honest - I have made next to nothing on DP - so I didnt think it was worth it.

Do you know where one can find the code for it for a vBulletin forum?

I had asked Shawn before and he said he wasn't going to release it anytime soon.

Someone said it was like 13 lines of code. I mean it only has be a stored table with adsense IDs that get radomly pulled. I mean you could do it with phpadsnew but it would't be as automated.

I noticed www.namepros.com using it also.

I found a developer who will do it but he wants $350. I can resell it if I want too.

$350 seems steep to me for a hack that will essentially help me give $ away…not to mention I had also heard it's a very simple hack for an experienced coder. I think I'll pass on paying for it for know and wait until it's released somewhere for free.

Just think about it.

1. Make a custom profile field

2. Tell the adsense script to pull a random Pub # from the db where the profile field is stored.

3. Paste the code

Point 2 is where I lose it :(

I got this tidbit from a very reliable source:

You just have to add the adsense field to the user profile. Then reference that field in the adsense output

Shawn already said many times that he would not give or sell anyone the code.

I really don't think it is worth much to get folks to post, but it does help make them feel like part of the forum.

I would say it is a waste of time for any forum owner to be honest about it.

The bad thing about it is everyone is afraid to click on an ad and I think that costs the forum more than it could ever be worth.

I would rather have the members be able to click on my ads and I think the members get more value out of the forum by clicking on relevant ads.

So the rev. share stuff is not something I would add to any forum I operate for the above reasons, it is no good for forum owners or the members IMO.

So the bulk of your users never click on or are afraid to click on an ad.

Next, as a user I want to click on ads when on forum, I did ask Shawn to put up the PUB #'s under the ads so that users could avoid clicking on their own ads or flash a little red light to tell you not to click.

That way folks could click on relevant ads that interested them :)

I think this dilutes google and deminishes the value advertises get. Just a guess, but I wonder if this will make the TOS as non complient in the future?

I mean wow, if they give an ad account to anyone that applies to use it for pocket change collection, I wouldn't pay for adsense. It's just this side of a clicking cooperative.

I have to fully agree in here! This is one reason why I just added a friend's code in there rather than mine! :D
