I have noticed a few users with referral links inside their posted links. Personally I find this rather sickening. We are all here to learn from one another, not profit from.
I suggest a ban on ALL referral links.

Well, Sickening might be a bit strong, but I hear ya. What does everyone else think?

Personally, I don't do this - and I do agree somewhat with Rex, though maybe not quite as stronlgy. If I offer a link in any of my posts it is because I am being totally honest regarding my opinion, and not because I am after any referrals. I mentioned this in another thread earlier on here today.
I would perhaps say though, that we can still learn from each other and refer at the same time! It might be polite for people who hide referral URL's in their links to mention that they have done so and will therefore benefit from any subsequent business. Members then have a choice as to who's link they use should they decide to take up any offers.

I agree. I wouldn't mind someone asking but just sticking it in there. It just doesn't rub me right.
Of course I always give credit where credit is due if someone points me to something I'm interested in and I will give them the referral.

I'm not a big fan of affiliate links unless the person posting clearly identifies the link as an affiliate link. That's a tough rule to police though...may be best to not allow them at all.

I agree with ForumJunkie.
Personally, I don't allow referral links on my forums. Most of such members come on the forums just to spam and this is one of the way to avoid this. Again this is my personal opinion.
