Hello all!
My first post here as a new webmaster.
Just purchased a site and the following link doesn't work.
http://www.xblnext.com/forum/archive/index.php
I have not edited this file or anything.
Anythoughts?

There is a redirect taking control and sending the browser to /FORUMS instead of /FORUM. This can be a index file or an apache setting.
Another guess is that the archive is not enabled and in the ACP your forumhome is set incorrectly to /forums instead of /forum? That seems to be how it works.

Where do I look for a re-direct? (what file) and where is the ACP?

I just found that the forum achive is enabled in the control panel.
I am still clueless as to what could be causing a re-direct and how to hunt it down.

Yes I do.
In it are:
archive.css 1 k 644
global.php 7 k 644
index.php 11 k 644

try re-uploading the files -

that is because you have php compiled as CGI. it redirects the user back to the forum index and it seems your forum index is not index.php by the looks of it. i believe there are some mods you can make to the archive to get it to work on a server with php compiled as CGI.

Any clues as to how I would go about doing this?
How 'bout uncompiling it and just using it as php?

Jelsoft usually has to approve transfers. You would get a license with a members area login and password to vbulletin.com
If that didn't happen, you need to check your contract for the purchase. If the site was not or still is not properly licensed, jelsoft will have you shut down.
The best place for this matter is between you and the seller or over at http://www.vbulletin.com/forum
