I had a brainstorm and came up with this motorcycle news (http://www.riderinfo.com/forums/news.php) page. What do you folks think?

Thanks

I have -0- but hae been considering something like this. However, I would place them on the homepage automatically to continously update the content of the homepage.

You could also have a NEWS page with several feeds, all providing relevant and frequently updated content. The advantage, aside with providing your users with the content, is that google loves freshcontent and will spider your site more if the content is there.

That page links to 10 pernamant URLs that will always have fresh content.

I may put a few on forum home now that ya mention it. ;)

Explain? They are all displayed on my site. I'm pulling the RSS feeds and displaying them at my ULR as basically html link and descriptions.

I wasn't planning on it. It's alot of hand coding., but I could easily automate in into the acp and the db and that crap,,, oh wait...I have to get some sleep. Me and you will talk.

Got 3 hours in at least.

I'm using the Koi version of CARP to parse the RSS feeds. It uses the file system for the cache, the next version up uses a database, but I didn't see the need for that. There is also a free version of the CARP program, however it will not display images.

Then there is a template and php file for the vB tie in. It's not a big deal really, but I don't plan to release it because I'm not going to automate it nor care to support it to be honest.

CARP is here. http://www.geckotribe.com/rss/carp/ I've been using it for a long time, when I checked for an update yesterday they had a very recent one, so I upgraded for the 9.95 to show some support. There are others, but this has always worked for me.

The news is pulled from Yahoo! News RSS feeds.
