Doubled my adsense revenue....

Hey all..

Just thought I'd pop this little note in here as a reminder for those who may have inadvertently done the same thing as I seem to have done over recent months.

Very embarrassingly... here goes...:(

I set up AdSense on my tMP site last November and right from day 1 it has been returning good revenue - only small amounts relatively speaking, but certainly enough to cover the costs of my web hosting. I implemented some code such that the ads appear at the top and bottom of posbit pages and also in the navbar.

But... and here is the embarrassing bit... Only the day before yesterday did I suddenly realise that I had only implemented this adsense code on one of my three vB Skins... eeeeeek! and only on the one that is used the least by my members!!!!!

So, that evening I eagerley added additional code to my two other themes and guess what.... in just a day I have more than doubled the revenue from AdSense. Now, this might be just a glitch, but I feel it is too coincidental to be that... time will tell.

I hope this serves as a reminder for everyone who reads this not to be a dollard like me, and to update each of your templates with the adsense code. D'oh!!!!!

Nope, not a glitch - people choose different skins and thouse who werent using that skin never saw the ads.

Sure Joey - but what I meant was: that there certainly was a glitch in my brain for not realising I hadn't added the adsense code to my other styles... and thus lost out on additional revenue from the start!!!!

ah -well... We all do dumb things here n there. We have to be looking in so many directions at once its easy to miss something that seems so obvious.

I had someone email me earlier asking why he couldnt get a banner to show on his site. He had all the code in and everything. My first question to him - did you upload the .jpg to the server? :D He's all fixed now.

This is why I offer 1 skin only.. hehe

I don't like giving the ability to use different skins....

Generally I disable that feature....
