I did the inevitable today and accidently clicked one of my own Google Ads, I immeidiatly informed Google and got a standard thanks for telling us but don't do it again email as a reply.
To prevent this ever hapening again I'd like to hide those ads from me based on IP address, has anybody done this and if so what was the simplest and easily maintainable (I will need to add multiple IPs over time) way of doing this.
Thanks

A hack could be developed for this but you will need to have a static IP for this otherwise everytime you will have to update your IP.

If you are logged into the site (because it's a forum etc) you could do it based on username

My IP is practically static, I've had the same dynamic IP for 3 years :). I'd rather use hiding based on IP rather than username to prevent other family members and co-workers clicking ads. I suppose my ideal solution would be to have a text file of IP addresses. All I really need to know is how to get at the IP in vB, though any other pointers or code would also be appreciated.

If you are the only admin on your board, you could put the Google adsense ad in a conditional that doesn't display for admins...

I have found something very interesting for you.
Random Ads in Threads, per Usergroups (http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=79112)
Hope this help :)
