How much money do you make with your month and what gives you more $$$?

I´m curious and I bet many people are also.

There are rumors about a guy (admin?) that can make around $4000 (monthly) with his board. I believe it´s a mix of Adsense and premium membership.
Either way, I bet he is one happy bastard.

In the long run, i just want to make money to pay the forum expenses (software, domain, host...) and who knows, maybe get some extra cash for my pocket. It will be very useful to pay the other bills (water, phone...) at the end of the month.

$4k a month in website income is possible. Difficult, but possible.

But to do this, you would need a forum that does somewhere around 3 - 3.5 million page impressions a month. Of course, thats just a ballpark estimate. If you have a forum that has a higher paying keyword theme, perhaps like 'web hosting' or something like that, you wouldnt need so much. You also wouldnt need so much if you were offsetting it with advertisements, premium memberships, selling t shirts, etc.

Regardless, its possible, and attainable over time. Just depends on how hard you work it.

I have launched WebmasterTalk.in three months back and added AdSense about two months back. I am not making much as of now. Just made about $20 only. I hope it will start picking up as soon as I got some more visitors :) One more reasons which I think that I am making too low because most of the members also own forums/sites and they run AdSense, therefore, they do not click on the Ads much :D

I have not tried any other method as yet though.

It's not a hijack... it's on topic accoprding to the AdSense algorithm for the term "How much money do you make with your month"...

If you started your forum hoping it would make you a lot of money, good luck. You can use a forum to drive visitors to a site or business which will make you money but there are so many forums out there these days I don't see people making a killing on them anymore.

We should probably point out that the specific information you give on adsense income may be construed as an adsense TOS violation. We should all be careful and try to discuss this in an abstract way.

Adsense is a valuable program we should respect.

Have you experiemented with ad placement and color? Perhaps a change could improve your income?

Of course marketing is very important. Is your site SEO? Do you promote it and create backlinks that could bring you traffic?

Most know the value I place on good SEO and Promotion and have seen the results that can be attained for a specific keyword or phrase first hand and asked how to do the same. Well that information is here at your disposal.

We hope you all can go from playing forum to doing business following our suggestions.

Google has recently updated the terms and conditions in this regards. Please see rule no. 7 at https://www.google.com/adsense/localized-terms

You may accurately disclose the amount of Google’s gross payments to You pursuant to the Program.

Adsense is a valuable program we should respect.
I do respect AdSense including everything Google has been doing. I am big fan of Google ;p

I have been experimenting about the same. I have tried many ad locations, color schemes etc. I am actually not getting much unique visitors. Most the visitors are members and they also run forums/sites with Adsense, so they then to click on AdSense less :D

Yep, I have made my forums Search Engine Friendly and I am constantly working on getting new backlinks but it will take time. Moreover, there are 100s of Webmastering Forums. This also makes a big difference.

I think if one is asking "what among affiliates, advertising, or other tactics like membership fees have you found to be the best income generator for your forum?", that is a legitimate and interesting question. As soon as you add in the question "how much are you making?", that becomes simply ill-mannered (maybe I'm just getting old but all my life that has been considered to be question only a boor or the tax man asks), or at the very least I lose interest totally in it.

Pick any profession you wish: You will find people losing money, struggling to make ends meet, making a decent living, or making a truckload of money. So what? That isn't going to tell you a thing about how YOU are going to do with your particular enterprise.

The information (my probably old-fashioned opinion only) is that the question ("how much are you makming?") is bad manners, irrelevant, and boring.

where do i find google adsense?? I'm not registered for it...my site makes 0!

So, to sum up all these, which among the choices would give money in forums? I am planning to build my own forum in the future and I would like to know how to make the most of it. It seems google adsense not really that great in money making (according to your experiences), how about the other ads, how to go about with it, do you advertise it in the forum that this space is available for ads ?

i don't make squat with my forums.. but i only have one ad..lol

it's all about what you do with your site..

if you have good traffic, and are able to place the ad's in high viewing and clicking spot.. you'll make good $...

if u have high traffic, and have a small ad in the footer or something, chances are you wont get many clicks..

Ok, Loco so what you are trying to say is that it is in the TRAFFIC that is the best way to gain more profits. So, how do we get more traffic?
