I'm new to vB, but I noticed in another release that it got as high as Beta 7. Is that what I can probably expect from this release also?

vBulletin 3.5 Betassubnet_rx 06-10-2005, 09:23 PM I'm new to vB, but I noticed in another release that it got as high as Beta 7. Is that what I can probably expect from this release also? Joeychgo 06-10-2005, 09:28 PM No way to know - could be more, could be less. Most of the releases on the current Stable version (3.0x) are mostly security releases. noppid 06-11-2005, 08:38 PM vBulletin 3.5 is some nice code. Waiting for Jelsoft to get it working to everyone's satisfaction will be worth it. Joeychgo 06-11-2005, 08:45 PM Well, I wouldnt wait - go ahead and get 3.07 and upgrade to 3.5 once its out of beta bassnutz 06-12-2005, 01:58 PM Well, I wouldnt wait - go ahead and get 3.07 and upgrade to 3.5 once its out of beta Are we going to be able to upgrade to 3.5? noppid 06-12-2005, 03:06 PM Are we going to be able to upgrade to 3.5? Absolutly, Jelsoft provides very good upgraders for vBulletin. That you can count on. I don't expect it to be any different for vBulletin 3.5. I would add though that it would not be a good idea to install any hacks on vBulletin 3.0.7 till you are certain you can have it on vBulletin 3.5. I'm needing vBIndex and the Shoutbox ported to the vBulletin plugin system. I did vBGarage and I'll do my other hacks as well soon enough. bassnutz 06-12-2005, 05:38 PM Thanks noppid. As soon as I found out that 3.5 was coming out, I quit putting hacks on my board. Less I'd have to redo. Now I need to check if vBadvanced is planning on updating the hompage hack for 3.5. evss 06-12-2005, 07:06 PM vbadvanced should be planning, vb.org are providing alot of useful new stuff to get it workable. noppid here who an experience coder also working hard to get vbgarage on vb3.5. However i wont count on vbindex since it stopped awhile ago and now the place is like a dead place. I can only count on another cms system which may work. noppid 06-12-2005, 07:09 PM vbadvanced should be planning, vb.org are providing alot of useful new stuff to get it workable. noppid here who an experience coder also working hard to get vbgarage on vb3.5. If that's the case, I will be porting vBindex then to keep it on my site. I like it. That's don't mean I'll be able to release it though. I dunno, maybe I'll try another. We'll see. I'm in no hurry to upgrade. evss 06-12-2005, 07:21 PM If that's the case, I will be porting vBindex then to keep it on my site. I like it. That's don't mean I'll be able to release it though. U mean u try another is to do a whole new cms for vbulletin? if really so, wow, i can expect another great work from u again. :p noppid 06-12-2005, 07:23 PM hahaha, no, I'm up to my eyeballs already! I'll leave that for the younger crowd. Jeramy 07-04-2005, 08:49 PM I cannot wait for 3.5 because of the plugin system. It is going to be an awesome way to manage my hacks. | |
