making money through my forum

hey everyone

im after some advise about making an extra bit of cash.

i own this forum http://www.extreme-mobile.com

ive set up google adsense on there but it is not earning much ($30 in like 3 1/2 mths)

is there any affilliates that are worth putting on my site to earn commission? im uk based so something british would be good.

Ive seen a few but its the ones where you got to sign up to about 50 stupid sites to get a load of rubbish and lets face it people hate signing up to crap therefore chances are i wouldnt make anything.

Something smple like if they go through my site and buy something i get commission or something

if any one has any reccomendations id be very gratfull

I would go though your site and remove any BS that you dont NEED.

Second, change your ad colors - make them contrast your forum since matching isnt working.

But mostly, improve your traffic. I just looked and I was the only guest there and no members. TRAFFIC TRAFFIC TRAFFIC

yeh ive been trying to sign up toas many topsites etc as possible to drive people to the site, but can never seem to have constant flow of traffic

The only people that visit topsites sites are the people that post links on them. They are useless for the most part in my opinion for traffic. But depending on how the topsite list is configured, it may be good for a back link.

You may add signature in your posts to get some free traffic :D

What about hiring paid posters for your forum as a start?

It is good to see a discussion on this issue as there thousands who have the same problem - web site generating little money from AdSense.

While there are indeed other opportunities available, I think Google AdSense and similar PPC ads are best bet for small web sites to earn decent money. This market is expected to grow furiously next few years, so investing time and energy into maximising PPC revenues makes sense.

That said, I'd agree with what a previous poster has mentioned - it is all about traffic and on the Internet, getting good SE engine traffic is all about getting lots of high-quality back links, not back-links from junk sites. So I'd recommend you to get high-quality back-links to your sites by begging, borrowing or stealing...that is the best way to accelerate your traffic and earnings fast

Although it is a thread that may interest alot, the person has not got the issue of not earning money from another program now on the site mentioned in his/her first post as the site no longer exists. lol
