Disable Live Links in Certian Categories

I've got some forum categories that aren't public...

I'd like to know if anyone knows of a way to disable live links for particular forum categories.

I've been looking for a while but the only thing I could find was someone asking if it was possible to disable links on a usergroup basis...

Cheers

Oliver

I'm pretty sure you have to hack the link parser function.

I would create an array of excluded forums in php_start_include to set a flag if the forum accessed is to be included for easy management and then put an if condition in the funtions file.

This way you could add and remove forums from the exclusion via the templates editor and only have to deal with the php file once.

Ok that makes sense......

Doesn't sound *too* hard to do either...

Cool...

Thanks. :)

yeah, I'm procrastinating. But I need something similar. Just too lazy.

Besides, if I do it, the mods won't have anything to do. hehe

Haha - Well I'll give it a go this evening, I'm a real beginner so hopefully this will give me an opportunity to learn server-side better.

Be warned though - It could get messy ;)

If you get stuck, I will chip in.

Thanks - I may take you up on that...

I wanna give it a go though - I've got to learn some time...

I've got all the PHP books I can think of - now it's just a case of putting it to practice.
