Although i have all email options unchecked in my usercp, also the "receive email from admin", i got an email from "admin(a)vbwebmaster.com about the new vB3.5.

Now, an admin sending important email eventhough the option is unchecked, like change to domainname or user account would ofcourse be fine, but i dont see the purpose of the above mentioned thread.

As it would suck getting marked as spam i havent done that (yahoo spamblock), but i will edit my profile here on vbwebmaster with a fake email address.

Just a heads-up so people doesnt start marking vbwebmaster mails as spam.

/edit
I couldnt edit my email here, thats not good....

There were instructions in the email as to how to handle this. What you recieved was a community bulletin. Sorry to annoy you, however, the email was completely complient and I'm sure if you forwarded the email and it's headers, yahoo would have pointed out it was not spam as you are a member here. As well as the email was complient with the opt out instructions.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

No instructions in the email, this is how it looked...

We are trying to get a feel for how forum owners are reacting to
vBulletin 3.5.

For emails to be complient there has to be an opt-in option, registration process mentions nothing about a community bulletin and no check box.
The only checkbox is the "Receive admin email" in usercp, which i had unchecked.

Maybe mentioning it in the registration process would be a good idea.

No biggie, for me atleast, just wanted to point it out :D

Thanks for the heads up.

I have to agree to an extent. I did some investigation into the newsletter code cause coincedently, I was actually installing it on another forum when you posted. There are a few things that need to be added to support it in more then one place.

If you would, in your profile options, please uncheck the newsletter box and you won't get that anymore.
