Cd's 1. Disadvantage when a cd gets too badly scratched it skips and your not able to play your favorite song or cd. 2.Advantage when you play a cd it does not have to be rewind like a cassette. Cassettes 1. Disadvantage when you use a cassette you must rewind. 2. Advantage when you use a cassette there is need to worry about your cassette many scratched. mrsmac1974 02-20-2007, 09:09 PM There are advantages and disadvantages to both cd's and cassettes and here they are. If you take care of a cd, and don't just toss it around ;) ... they don't get scratched. I've got cd's that were some of the first sold and they are still in pristine shape -- and I play them all the time. 2. Advantage when you use a cassette there is need to worry about your cassette many scratched. Cassette tapes stretch, they get stuck in the player, they get dirt and dust in them easily (even in the case). At least when you rewind it, it "tightens" it back on the spools. :D Heiress-Apparent 02-21-2007, 12:04 PM If you take care of a cd, and don't just toss it around ;) ... they don't get scratched. I had cds that been scratched and I don't even toss them around they had been played so much that they have scratches on them. Shazz 02-21-2007, 04:19 PM Um... CD's hands down Its almost like comparing a CD to a floppy mrsmac1974 02-21-2007, 07:24 PM I had plenty of casette tapes and they never been scratched or have had dirt in them what do you do with your cassettes'? Never had a scratched cassette, a stretched one - yes - but not scratched. ;) All I ever did was pop them in the player (home and car) and play them. If my memory is working (always doubtful) it was the 90-minute and longer cassettes that were really bad about stretching. Dirt? I lived in an area that was dusty and it got in everything - but really seemed to be an issue with the cassette tapes. I had cds that been scratched and I don't even toss them around they had been played so much that they have scratches on them.Wow. I've never gotten a scratch on a cd. I do believe you can repair scratched cds as long as the scratch isn't deep. What do you do with your cassettes and cds? Big Dan 02-21-2007, 07:47 PM Yup, you can use white tooth paste as a temporary scratch fixer on CDs. :) Hell³ 02-21-2007, 11:33 PM I've used toothpaste, but I've found that hair gel works better. I keep my cds in a cd holding case and I don't have as many casettes' as I use to but I don't play my cds as much as I use to. I lived in a dusty room but they did not get dusty because I kept them in the case and a plastic grocery bag. | |
