Is there a way to set up the software so that the message posted on the forum is not displayed in the email notification?

Email Notification without messageResaleBroker 09-23-2005, 09:45 PM Is there a way to set up the software so that the message posted on the forum is not displayed in the email notification? Joeychgo 09-24-2005, 01:49 AM Yes - in phrases - search for "notify" ---- varphrase $vbphrase[notify] the text of the phrase is this: Hello $touser[username], $bbuserinfo[username] has just replied to a thread you have subscribed to entitled - $threadinfo[title] - in the $foruminfo[title] forum of $vboptions[bbtitle]. This thread is located at: $vboptions[bburl]/showthread.php?t=$threadinfo[threadid]&goto=newpost Here is the message that has just been posted: *************** $pagetext *************** There may be other replies also, but you will not receive any more notifications until you visit the forum again. Yours, $vboptions[bbtitle] team ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Unsubscription information: To unsubscribe from this thread, please visit this page: $vboptions[bburl]/subscription.php?do=usub&t=$threadinfo[threadid] To unsubscribe from ALL threads, please visit this page: $vboptions[bburl]/subscription.php?do=viewsubscription&folderid=alle visit this page: $vboptions[bburl]/subscription.php?do=viewsubscription&folderid=all"> Edit that as you see fit. You can write the email anyway you see fit by just editing the phrase. I would suggest you keep the link to the thread, or at least the forum. It makes it more convienant for a user to get to your site. What's everyone's thoughts on the idea. Good idea? Bad idea? Joeychgo 09-24-2005, 04:05 PM I would make it as convienant as possible for the user - just get them back to the forum ResaleBroker 09-24-2005, 06:13 PM I've already got one negative feedback today for removing the post. Hmmm... Right now I really do think that removing the post is a good way to get members back to the forum. I'll give it some time and see what happens. Joeychgo 09-24-2005, 10:55 PM Neg Rep!
