On Joe's advice, I tried A Small Orange Hosting. Tim the owner is great and knows his business. However, his tech support department has solved none of my issues. Tim has had to handle them every time. Dealing with the tech support department has wasted alot of my time. I don't want to deal with it anymore. I'm very disappointed with the VPS support available at A Small Orange.
Anyone know a good VPS service?

I've heard that ServInt (http://www.servint.com/vps/) is one of the leaders in VPS. Their services are fully managed and from what I read on hosting forums is a top notch company.

Yep, powervps.com is looking very good to me too. I have been researching and calling several companies.

I've got 2 VPSs with PowerVPS, they've been excellent. Tech Support is incredible, they respond and resolve issues almost immediately. Even answer dumb questions quickly. ;-)

I may even ask a dumb question now and then. I'm going to use up this month and move to powervps.com most likely.

Tim told me he didn't have time to service me personally and his tech support are of no use to me 100% of the time. When I got that reply to my email, I made up my mind. I'm moving.
Funny thing is I'm growing and may need another or bigger VPS in the future. ASO won't get my business again. They are too new to VPS service.

Your one of the rare people that have complained about ASO's service. Could it just be a one time thing?

Joey, obviously something isn't right if the tech support can't solve a customer's issues. You said yourself that you go straight to the owner.

Well - I do that more out of habit. I was the first VPS customer and was sort of a beta tester - and I dealt with the owner directly for that and, jsut never stopped dealing with him. I dealt with the tech dept before then and always got fast and great service.

Even though I dont use ASO, I have had to deal with their tech support via my clients a few times. I must say, they have problems doing basic tasks, fast responce, but lacking in the tech department.

That's the biggest point here. The tech support are not up to speed on VPS at ASO. Tim flat out refused to deal with me, the only one IMO that is up to speed with VPS. You have Tim personally. Of course you are happy.
If you recall Joe, the night I signed up, he said I can't deal with this tonight I'm going to bed, someone will do it tomorrow and I got annoyed. You talked me out of being annoyed. Now I get this curt I can't deal with you personally reply.
He rubbed me the wrong way and I'm out of there.
I know I was on the planet before and with ASO I am again. Folks have mentioned issues with the Planet and it's just as well. I just wish I could get a refund and move now rather then have to live with them another month while I'm not happy with the service or attitude.

I must give my thumbs up for solarvps.
They have been just excellent. the support has been fast and the plans themselves are customizable and also not too costly. Must try if you are looking for a VPS solution.

I have a client that I manage digital assets for and she has a VPS at LiquidWeb.
Been very happy with their service and support the past 6 months.

Well I got over my frustration and realized I probably over reacted. Except for one frustrating incident that may not have been as serious as I though in retrospec, I stayed with ASO.
My sites run fine. I'm pleased with the response times and the control panels.
So today I had an issues. The tech support was contacted. They looked into it. They came up with log info and solved the problem. This was great! I was not able to stay available and keep an open dialog, yet when I got back, problem solved.
Thanks ASO.

Tim told me he didn't have time to service me personally.
I don't blame him, I wouldn't "service" you either. I like you, I'm just not in like with you.
The oldest line in the book...."It's not you, it's me."
:D
note to self: be nice to noppid, he can do bad things to me right now.;)
