In light of recent events, we thought it would be a good idea to run a quick, light and fun contest.
Noppid has graciously agreed to donate a copy of vBPicGallery to the winner along with full download access for updates and what not.

Ok - this isnt a tough one gang.
To win your free copy, Tell us WHY you should have or need a free copy. It could be anything - but the most original, funny or pathetic story wins. There is no deadline on this contest, just the first one to entertain noppid the most, wins. You can submit as many entries as you like, but be original. Hell, we dont even care if it's truthful.
You can make as many entries as you like. The idea is for this to be something fun. We will be having a much more intense contest coming up. Wait til you see the prizes!

7. I'll drive to noppid's house and mow his lawn every week for a year. (he provides the beer & lawn mower)
8. I'll clip the toenails of homeless people to prevent ingrown toenails. (Hey, that alone is worth something, right?)
9. I'll consider noppid my best friend. (Like a dog, but better :p )
10. I'll tattoo "I love Greg" on my forehead.
11. I'll name my first born "Noppid" (Providing I get permission from the wife. Sorry always a clause)
12. Because I have a small penis and this hack will make it "feel" bigger.

Ken Johnston 11-26-2005, 08:35 AM I was outside walking the dog when a bright light came down from above and I found myself in the middle of the light. The dog was terrified. All of a sudden, I began to lift off the ground and faster and faster I went upwards, toward the light.
It all happened so fast, I didn't have time to panic, but I was really scared. I found myself drawn into the innards of a space craft and was immediately surrounded by alien beings unlike anything I could have ever imagined.
My experience is similar to those who have been abducted before me. I was probed and prodded, and things too terrible to mention were done to me. I was forced to lie abed with an alien female. It was all too terrible.

Anyway, while they were doing their thing with me, I was snapping photos like crazy. They thought I was just trying to light a cigarette, but believe me, I got some incredible photos. These photos will show the world everything they would want to know about these aliens.
To make a long story short, they eventually lowered me down to earth and left, never realizing I had the whole thing captured on my zippo spy camera. I should mention that they took all my money and credit cards and pictures of my dog and my AARP card and my driver's license and the keys to my car.
So, if the world is ever to see these incredible photos, of things never before seen by humans, I'm going to need a vB Picture Gallery on the site i'm building, and I no longer have any money, so I can't buy one myself.
Frankly, I remember everything, so I don't need to see the photos again, but if you would like to see them, and help drive enormous amounts of traffic to my (soon to be launched) site, I would appreciate winning the free vBulletin Picture Gallery, with special thanks to noppid for his contribution. I'd like to rip of Photopost properly and copy all their code, making sure to change the variables and function names, code ordering and templates so that they won't ever suspect it's a copy :D:D
Then sue them for copying my code ;)
Oh and for a real reason - I'd like to use it to showcase screenshots of styles, hacks and other products and stuff for my Design/Coding Company I'm setting up with some friends from the vB Community :)

gprime 11-26-2005, 02:45 PM Well, having always attended private religious school, in September I moved to Grand Rapids, where the only private schools were Catholic ones, which were out of the question because I'm Jewish. Now, being one of the few new juniors, and not having any major highschool achievement beyond a high GPA, I thought it would be nice to distinguish myself.
Now to me, it seemed the smartest thing to do would be to stick with something I know. And forum administration is just that. So I decided to open up an online community for Juniors at my high school, where they could get academic support, keep up with the latest school news, learn about post-graduation options, and have a place to relax socially. As such, there will be several features, such as an arcade, implemented to help the students enjoy the site. Now a gallery seems like the perfect extension. They can share their own pictures, budding young photogaphers can showcase their talents, and all the most memorable sporting moments can be displayed. Essentially, it would be a key component of the site.
But, cost was always an issue. Naturally, this is a project for high school students, so money is tight. Our hosting, domain, and our leased vb license (which is arriving in the next 48 hours), were all donated by a generous web admin I've worked with in the past. And really, it would be both highly inappropriate and unfruitful to try and coax more money out of him for a gallery. Photopost Pro is far too expensive, as it costs more than my leased license. And, vBa Gallery (because I refuse to call it Photopost vBGallery) is horribly supported, and still quite costly. So neither of those are options, meaning I still need a gallery. And this is the only quality option that will integrate with vB.
Without it, a key segment of the site will not come to fruition, and as such the site will be worse on the whole.

Ever wonder why competition is needed? It's because of the above. If your vB lease license is $85 but the gallery is $129, you know which one you'd buy (or in this case, contest for!!). ;)

On a serious note, (like I have any) the reason(s) I'd like a free copy are as follows.
1. It's close to Christmas, I know you'd like to give me a present. (you don't even need to wrap it!)
2. I just spent a TON of money on my new bass. Now I'm broke.
3. I'm saving up to buy my wife a custom pair of boobs. (not the silicone type, the saline type)
4. I'm cheap. If I can get a copy for free, GREAT!
