AnthonyCea 11-29-2005, 10:14 AM What is your role in this exchange GFC
GuyFromChicago 11-29-2005, 10:31 AM I'm a marketing director for the company.
AnthonyCea 11-29-2005, 10:33 AM Does that mean you are part owner or working for the founders
Great concept by the way old man!:o

More of an employee than an owner, although I do own stock.
Great concept by the way old man!:o
I thought so too - one of the main reasons I decided to come on board:)
You must know I'm only a few weeks from 30...I do feel old:(
theMusicMan 11-29-2005, 10:41 AM WOW - you bet, what a cracking idea!! I am already onto the sound effect and loop areas.

That's great, I'm glad one of the initial areas is something you're interested in. Any and all feedback is welcome!
AnthonyCea 11-29-2005, 10:56 AM Good for you GFC, this looks like the opportunity of a lifetime for you man, I am happy for you! :o
I'm about 16 years from 30 in the wrong direction man! ;)
GuyFromChicago 11-29-2005, 11:08 AM Thanks. Exciting times in the online landscape to say the least:)
theMusicMan 11-29-2005, 11:29 AM Hey GFC
I had a look at the sound effects and loops area and there seems to be some images missing from there - at least when I looked in Firefox there seemed to be.
Anyway, what specifically are you looking for in a sample set if I were to produce one? Are you looking for music per sé, or just sound effects, arpegiations, flangers, filters, sweeps etc... I am interested in putting something together but I should find out as much as I can beforehand so that you get what I think you want to hear...
Cheers

Thank you, I noticed the same in Firefox. Keep in mind I'm not on the development team but have passed comments regarding browser issues along to them earlier today.
As far as the sample content - just something that you feel has value and would like to sell through the marketplace. I don't see the submissions (again, not my area) but have spoken with the person who does. The submissions are really being used as part of a screening process at this time - i.e. the guy uploads the MP3 of him swatting his dog with a newspaper probably won't make the cut;)
I would think just about any or all of the sample you listed above would have value and would make a nice addition to Blish at it's launch.
ps - If you get a quick second let me know if the missing image issue is fixed in Firefox...I can't hit the url from in the office. Thanks again.
theMusicMan 11-29-2005, 03:29 PM Ok, I need to set up my mixer rig system again so as to be able to get a good quality recording. At the moment I just have my synth set up through my Techniks hi-fi gear or through headphones.
Is there a deadline?
GuyFromChicago 11-29-2005, 03:42 PM Is there a deadline?
Early January - it's not set in stone at this time. We're trying to be flexible:)
Jan 8 if I have to pick a date.
theMusicMan 11-29-2005, 04:13 PM OK, that gives me plenty of time to get everything set up and working as I want it to. I'll get a load of stuff ready for ya... this sort of stuff OK;
samples and sound effects
chords and progressions/cadences using different sounds
major chords with different sounds
minor chords with different sounds
unusual chords - maj7th's, 9th's, 11th's, 13'ths
drum samples -riffs and 4 bar phrases
guitar samples - notes and pitch bends
arpegiator effects - one of my fav areas to work with sounds and effects here...
piano ensemble effects
ambient and relaxing mood chords
choral effects
Is that the sort of stuff you would want submitted?
theMusicMan 11-29-2005, 04:15 PM PS: you might want to contact bassnutz here on vBW too - he's a cool dude and runs a successful Bassists forum - I am sure he might like to put me right on my bass/guitar submissions as they will all be fake (i.e. synthesised) - I am not a guitar player... hehehehe
GuyFromChicago 11-29-2005, 04:17 PM If there's a market for it, we would love to have it included.
What you're seeing today (in terms of catagories) is just a small sampling of what will be offered.

Thanks for the tip - will do.
