Ah Yes.....T-Shirts

So, about every forum has their own set of T-shirts for sale. I going to do some also, I've already got the logo designed and the pricing set, and the t-shirt place is ready to print. For me, this will not be a revenue thing. I just want to get the shirts out into the public, and at minimum break even.

I can do a minimum order of 10 shirts at a really great price, so I dont have to dump a ton of cash into this to get it started. Besides that, I see most places advertise their shirts at $20 or so. Is this reasonable? I want to (and can) go lower than that. Probably $15 shipped or something. These are still great quality shirts too.

Not to mention, there is more than just a forum logo on it, I've got some catchy and amusing wording on the back that certainly appeals to my group. Hopefully they will like it.

The bottom line is, how effective is it? For me, hopefully I will get people wearing them at their local club events, or during a race weekend while hanging out around the pits or the campground. Other than name branding, are they good for anything else?

I know of a couple large forums that have tried to sell shirts, only to have it flop. I think I have the right ideas, but I guess I'll never know until I try.

One thing I am about to try...

I offer a paid membership option on my sites. Im going to run a membership drive thats going to include a free t shirt if they sign up. Shirts cost me about $5 - memberships are $30. Im expecting to pick up a bunch of new memberships.

Besides that - I sell t shirts. I also give them away at meets from time to time. I generally make enough on selling a batch of t shirts to cover the cost of making them and giving some away.

Joey,

Do you mind sharing your T-Shirt provider eventually? I might be interested, too.

Thanks.

Sure -

But promise me you will tell him Joey from Lincoln vs Cadillac sent you.

His name is Kevin - He owns Cheaper Tee Shirts - Myorder @ cheapert-shirts.com - 630-351-3838

To give you an idea, if you order 100 shirts with a 2 color imprint, its $2.95 a shirt for white shirts.

You can see his prices on his Price calculator (http://www.cheapert-shirts.com/Webby.cfm?referer=lincolnvscadillac)

He may seem a bit disorganized, (he has like 5 phone numbers, 4 emails, 2 company names, etc etc) but ive placed several orders with him over time and all have come out great.
