What do you folks think about banning free emails from registering on your sites? I continue to have a problem on my site with people using free email accounts, making purchases, downloading my products, then doing chargebacks with paypal leaving my out in the cold and my stuff ending up on the warez sites. I feel if you are a serious buyer, you already own a domian and should have an email associated to that domain. Opinions?

I think people use their free email accounts so they don't get spammed from a seller. I agree with you in regards of banning free email accounts if you are selling products that will be used on a website. The buyer should provide a fqd email addy during purchase. IMO

Maybe you should setup your electronic downloadable goods so that free email must be validated before delivering the product or implementing some type of delay maybe they must wait a day or two. That may discourage buyers from using their free email accounts.

I agree hun, I don't think that any site selling services/products should permit free email addresses.

The problem is how would you track this? There are new free email services opening up all the time and to constantly be banning them all would be difficult. How do you think you can get around this?

The only thing I can think of would be to manually check the domains.

I use free email addresses for all of my online subscriptions and purchases. The reason is not to defraud anyone, but to avoid massive amounts of spam cloggin the email addresses I use for real communication with humans. This is a tough issue, because I can see both sides....
