Why, oh WHY, are most vB skins/styles so dark??

I HATE dark forums... I like light, airy... not pastels, yuck... but... light.
dark forums almost make me feel claustrophobic

Those owners are all AC-DC fans!

Some of them are odd to read after you get use to the light skins, but each owner wants a unique brand versus a stock blue vBulletin forum in most cases! :o

well yeah, I don't like the standard vB skin either. I guess I just like light, clean, easy to read forums.

This forum has a good look to it that makes folks want to post here!

Kit Kramer knows design, he is one of the administrators here and does contract work, I think MusicMan our moderator also does custom work, check his profile!

Oh I like the look of this site. The colors are almost identical to my site. I've found a skin at vbstyles.com that I really LOVE... the aria sand style. I like the entire skin, so does my co-admin, I'll just have to do a personalized header.
Of course, I have to buy my vB license first. It's taking me a while to save up for it

I hear you, money is tight and it is always an issue, I wish the best for you!

You will need to find a way to make some money!

Have you seen Noppid's Amazon Book Store program?

That would be great for your site!

Personally, I don't like any color other than white in the background of text I am reading.

Look at my site for example. It is a South Carolina Gamecocks website. Our colors are garnet and black, yet I used white to give it a more open feel.

That is a well designed site for sure, but the white is almost too bright, I think I would need to turn the brightness down on the screen to use the site, but I can live with that!

There are all kinds of different site designs, each custom design is a bit different and that is what makes your site unique, your custom design is your trademark and brand!

Surfers choose where they go, it is up to each webmaster to do the best they can to keep visitors happy with the best design they can come up with! :o

The design is great though, did you do this design yourself or did you contract this out?

Thanks Anthony! I did it myself. Brought the site online in April and have been pleased to get to 2200+ members so far.

I did look at your site smack, just didn't see anything that really spoke to me. Oh well, I don't have my license yet, so there's time, I'll keep checking back to see if you have anything new

Not sure hun... I have about half the $ right now... I'm hoping some members will come through with a few donations in the next day or two. I really would have loved to get it up and done by Jan 1 but that's not happening. I'm so excited about changing over to vB!!

BTW... when are you going to open your vB site back up?
