I just got done discussing photo attachments with a forum administrator on another forum and he mentioned that they disabled photo attachments because someone posted a virus within a photo!
I heard of the jpg virus that was going around a while back, but I have also seen members post text links to pages that would load a virus on anyone who clicked on the link! :eek:
I have www.nod32.com anti virus on an XP Pro box and it stopped it in that case, but this seems to be a big problem for forum owners to worry about!
What can be done to keep bad files from being posted and how do you protect your users from these viruses and malware files :confused:
This administrator claimed that this virus infected photo nearly took the board offline so I wonder if vBulletin has a built in scanner or if forum owners can do something to scan loaded photos before they are published :confused:
