has anyone upgraded yet? They've also provided a patch and a plugin.
I wanted to just install the plugin, but hey only have the xml file attached and when I clicked on it, the script came up instead of downloading

I upgraded two forums to 3.5.3 today. The one thats for sale (easy), and my main board (broke a few styles when I upgraded vbportal).

Running the upgrade is easy, so you might as well go for it. I love the skype integration.

Ric :)

I upgraded 3 this afternoon. Not terribly complicated.

I've been trying very hard to NOT make any changes to the php code so I can upgrade easily. One of the things I didn't like about phpBB was every time there was an upgrade to the software I had to go through all of my customized files and work the upgrades into my hacks. With vBulletin's templates and hooks, I don't have those issues!

BTW, check your e-mail, I answered the questions related to this that you had sent me.

I have too many hacks on my board, so I just used the XML patch, worked like a charm.

I had thought about using the plugin, simply because I'm chicken, lol, afraid I was going to screw it up. But Mike convinced me to go ahead and do it, so I upgraded.... with him standing by in case I mucked it up! But I did it :D Thanks Mike!

I used the plugin as the immediate fix to avoid any issues. Now had the time and upgraded my 2 forums. Worked very well.
